Ok thanks. The reason I asked is that since you are also on Xbox 1 and I used your setup in that video, I can't carry as much speed into the turns as you do or turn as tight into like 3 and 4 like you're doing. There's just too much understeer. It's basically the same complaint I had in the last challenge and I think it boils down to this Fanatec wheel just doesn't relate steering input correctly to the car. It's like you're driving a car with a steering ratio of 9:9.1 and I'm driving a car with a ratio of 18:9.1. I'm definitely not saying I'm capable of 2:04's but I do think it's hurting me quite a bit.

37 Drivers (I hope) have now posted a lap time, the lead has moved to a different time zone thanks to a rather nice lap from eclipsee! Been plenty of improvements posted as well over the last 24 hours...

Wednesday means I am starting to think about W23 Low power rear wheel drive car will be the order of the day, Magione or Nurburgring Sprint for the circuit.

Should've checked these hotlap threads sooner. Just a brutal combination! Guess this is punishment for running Spa, Nurburgring (GT and Nordschleife), and Mugello too much. Don't think I've even attempted a GT3/Cup type of car at Silverstone beforehand and only remember racing this track a handful of times for probably two Special Event challenges at most. More time to be had, but I've had enough spinouts and even meetings with walls to need a break for the time being...

 

Hi guys, first of all great job to every one I'm so invidious to all because I can't turn a lap without spinning, I'm on ps4 and there's not many setup for this car .
First question how much stability control did anyone use I tried 0 but that's impossible for me at 50%I managed a high 2.14 and second I can't bring my front tires to work they are left 74 and right 68 degrees max .

I assume you are using a pad?

I use a pad and use zero stability , but you really need a sensitive hand, and some good controller settings.

if you are struggling to keep heat in the tyres, then you're either not pushing them hard enough or need to lower the tyre pressure.

that said, the default setup should be good for at least a 2.06 in good hands.

That car is interesting, a classic behaviour of NA engine (nothing under 6k rpm) gearbox is clearly a pleasure, brakes are inbelivebly good, suspensions on this track are too bumpy (i've touched the antirollbar but does not help so much) can't improve my time, and i was clearly lost on the track for the 5 firsts laps.

That was my observation as well, the best/fastest lap was the second one.

May I ask what kind of app you are using for this?

2.06 with standard setup man I'm not so talented but Near 2.11 12 I think it's possible 4 me and lower than 15 psi I can't go and when I'm pushing the car understeer so bad.
I try today after work without kid and wife

Came back home after hitting some golf balls out on the range and figured since I was wearing my Porsche (Intelligent Performance) polo shirt why not have another go? Probably gave me some extra horsepower on the straights! Didn't run into any walls this time either. But darn, had a mid-high 2:08 in hand and cooked it on the last gradual right before the s-section next to the pit lane entrance (need to learn the names of these turns). It's late here though so I'll have to call it a day!

And hopefully there's a Corvette C7.R challenge in the future to match my Corvette Racing Adidas shirt with. Make it happen!

 

It takes a ton of practice, a ton of patience, and a fair bit of pure talent to be as quick as the fast people on here.
There is a train of thought I've often seen (and often been guilty of myself) 'why am I slow, when x is doing x:xx, I must be doing something wrong' when the reality is you either just haven't spent enough time on the track, and/or are at the limit of your talent, not everyone can be (insert fast racing driver).
