1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

PHYSICS ECU maps implementation

Programming limits probably. All cars have 12 settings reserved for ecu as a whole. This includes both mixture and TPS. The complete ECU selection is thus only one setting in game. And it's very difficult to divide this in 2 for the dashboard.

can someone explain me what "progressive" means in this respect of throttle mapping?

Apologies if I've missed what I'm looking for but I wonder if you gents would know...

I remember a .pdf file being posted many months back that included most of the per car map descriptions, although it was somewhat incomplete at that time. Would anyone know if there is an updated version that has been posted somewhere?

    Many thanks!

What do you mean? I think what you're searching for is literally on the first page of this thread?

Yes, that's correct. All of that information was put into a well laid out .pdf file which I downloaded sometime in 2019.

From what I can see, Aris has been updating the map information over time and I have been wondering if those most recent updates had been added to the same or similar pdf.

For now, I can copy Aris's latest info into a txt file while I keep searching for a more well laid out version that's easier for my old eyes to read :D

    That's great @Oblit0r

It's in a very similar layout to the one I had been using but has more updated information. Thank you very much for the link and additional information :)

This would be less in the beginning of your pedal travel and more towards the end.
Agressive would have more throttle at the beginning of your pedal travel.
Linear would be a straight line.

If you look at pedal travel vs throttle, it would be for example:
    <pedal travel%> / <throttle%>
    - Aggressive: 0/0 - 50/70 - 100/100
    - Linear: 0/0 - 50/50 - 100/100
    - Progressive: 0/0 - 30/50 - 100/100

As an illustration: Aggressive left, progressive right

I haven’t messed with this yet, but I understand progressive to be better for set conditions. When would you prefer an aggressive map? Most times I leave it in linear.

I’m so grateful to have individual map assignments now. I linked mine in VoiceAttack so I don’t have to “click” to a specific map with button(s). Now I just say “ECU 8” for instance and it just switches right there. Doubleplus good!

What map to use is based on the grip levels of the track as far as I know.
An agressive map would be usefull on a rubbered in track where you want more power on lower pedal press I guess, I am not a specialist in any way.

Yeah, that makes sense. In any other condition, I could see it making the car more prone to spins. But if your car is really hooking up, then the extra punch at low speed would be beneficial. Thanks.

On the Huracan, is map 2 the aggressive or the progressive one?
    Also wet maps 5, 6, and 7?

I know they are different but I cannot see it explained in the same detail as the others.
    Thanks.

Wet maps are always more progressive than dry maps. On the other side I cannot help you, only with my knowledge that often the quali map is the more aggressive one.

My question is (It may have been answered before) But why is this information not in sim on the setup screens?

The developers believe people should not have access to this kind of information within the game.
(At least that is how I understand all the replies we received regarding why there is not more info in the Setup UI.)

    Also mentioned were things like:
    - Its a lot of text. (Nearly all of it has already been written, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V)
    - It might be different depending on car / situation. (Its just a bit more text, see above line)
    - It would need to be translated to multiple languages. (A lot of players would be more then happy to translate it to their own native languages.)

    The only reason is :

It cost to much Time and Money to translate in all the languages officialy supported by ACC.
It's no more indy dev time ;)
