1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge #122 – Die Meisterschaft Deutschlands

Discussion in 'Console Lounge' started by Totall Wrytoff, Mar 31, 2019.

  1. Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap Challenge #122 - Die Meisterschaft Deutschlands and the First Round of our 3rd mini-series - Die Meisterschaft Deutschlands (The Championship of Germany)

    The Challenge:
    Hotlap
    Car: Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016
    Track: Nurburgring GP
    upload_2019-3-31_21-17-21.png
    upload_2019-3-31_21-17-30.png
This next mini-series is a German national championship.
We will be enjoying German circuits (with an exception) and celebrating the German automotive industry’s contribution to driving excellence on road and track, whilst trying to use the cars not yet featured in WHC.
So it’s the turn of the Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 – powered by a 2litre V4 and electric power generated from two hybrid systems, recovering kinetic energy from braking and heat energy from the turbo/ exhaust. The combustion engine drives the rear axle and delivers around 500hp and the electric motor powers front axle and gives over 400hp.
The recuperated electrical energy is stored temporarily in a lithium-ion battery and feeds an electric motor on demand. That means we can push the KERS button for more power.

Several things to say about this week:
Firstly, this is only the second time we have used the Nurburgring GP circuit in WHC, which I found surprising. So here we go.
Secondly, this week’s challenge is also one of the Special Events, “Finally 18.” This is deliberate. The Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 takes some setting up, so I’m hoping you may have a tune already but if not, there are plenty of suggestions around and therefore you can concentrate on the driving.
Thirdly, the driving experience will be absolutely and completely different to last week!

A chap called Jimmy Broadbent has posted a detailed vid on Youtube which although long, is very interesting in terms of understanding how to optimise the electrical power in the Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016.

The recommended pressure for the soft, medium and hard slicks is 35psi.

How to take part - Hot lap:
To enter, select Drive > Hotlap, choose the Porsche 919 Hybrid 2016 and Nurburgring GP circuit. Please setup the session as shown below:
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Free
    Stability: Free

To qualify for WHC you must have the ambient temp set to 26 DegC.

    Deadline: Sunday 7th April 2019 - 21:00 GMT.

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like. It is all about taking part, testing yourself and enjoying Assetto Corsa. All Platforms are welcome.
To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!
Please post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).
Please use the following format to post your times:

Your time, to be shown as x.xx.xxx.
    Your platform (PC Xb1 PS4)
The image or screen shot showing your time.
    Your thoughts and comment

Please mark updated times with Improvement.

A leader board is collated regularly. Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post cannot be updated.

    Weekly Hotlap Challenge Championship League
    How it works:
    1. Enter the Weekly Hotlap Challenge as posted every Sunday evening and you will be automatically entered into the league table.
    2. Your ranking in the final standings, posted on Sunday evening, will earn you points, as follows:
    Place Points: 1st 14 2nd 13 3rd 12 4th 11 5th 10 6th 9 7th 8 8th 7 9th 6 10th 5
    3. Every player taking part in a WHC, but finishing outside the top 10 will get 4 points.
    4. Every player who is in the table, (ie has entered a previous WHC) but does not play that week will get three points each week.
    5. Players that join WHC after WHC#114 will be awarded 3 points retrospectively for every WHC missed. For example, if you enter WHC for the first time at WHC#124, your name will be added to the table, with 27 points, plus whatever you score in WHC#124.
    6. Specialist Challenges will also feature throughout the season. These will be as monthly mini-series, for example Formula 1 February or Muscle Car Month, or nominated car types, for example the best driver in road cars. These events will be announced in the WHC Thread.

The updated Championship league table will be displayed in a new post in the Console Lounge each week.

At the end of the year, the WHC before Xmas week, the winners will be declared -
    * Championship podium
    * Specialist Challenge Winners
    * 1st place Contributor (the most Bonus points)
    * 1st place Loyal Lapper (who has entered most regularly, most often, if there is a draw, Bonus points count, then Champ points)

This is frustrating. I don't have the technique and timing to drive this machine near the limit, let alone at the limit consistently. I lost count over the hour of both restarts and swear words. What that means is @Totall Wrytoff and @Tibor Sólyom are doing this thing proper! Oh, and also that I love Mercedes Arena and Bit Kurve, which are still two of my least favorite turns (on a circuit) in existence.

I believe this one's running a tick lower on tire pressures, soft compound, lowest power differential setting, lowest fuel setting, one notch down (to 58) on brake bias, and hotlap mode w/ 70% recovery. I actually tried driving a GT3 car immediately after the session on the Nordschleife and it looked like everything was moving in slow motion! And of course I crashed on my attempts to complete a lap because I'm such a bum... haha

And because this challenge involves a Porsche I will be uploading images shortly from my visit to the local Porsche dealership a few weeks ago. Never would've thought I'd see what I'd seen!

I really thought I was walking into the dealership for just the red GT3RS that was visible from outside. That alone would've been spectacular, but what I saw next to it blew my mind!

Difficult and lots of work to be done but a Very very nice combo

Well that’s a first getting gold on a special event on my first attempt. Last time I tried one of them was probably well over 12 months ago and I struggled to get a bronze or a silver on most of em.

Using hot lap or high aggressive in delivery seems to use the KERS up way to quickly.
Low aggressive seems to be working best at the moment.

I got Gold with a 1:42.504 in the special event with this set-up. Can't get anywhere close to that time this evening and the juice runs out coming up to the final chicane. Might have to return to stock.
Mark Webber did a 1:39.861 qualifying time for the 6hrs in 2016, so that's the target.

Not the biggest improvement if we're going by hard numbers or considering the additional time investment of another hour-plus, but this run was on the charging setting with a lower recovery rate (I believe 40%). Hotlap and High Aggressive modes really take away from the fun of driving this missile.
