1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Exactly and while being 10,000 miles away from the goal post, we are making progress one step at the time, so one step or 2, even in the right direction, is not going to make a huge difference. More important, at this stage of the simulation accuracy, is to feel immerse.
Actual software, ACC, AC, etc... and what wheel and how it is set up have a role in getting us there, one screen, 3 screens, VR also important, seat motions, still in it infancy but huge potential for immersion, sound off course, all pieces of a primitive and incomplete puzzle.
Concentrating on one little aspect of only one element, can only take us so far, and will not make a particular software takes us to the elusive "perfect simulation".
So, do I prefer a better tyre simulation or a worse one? It depends, if it is part of the rest of the package that feels the most satisfactory to me, yes, sure bring it in. Is it important we try to improve that tyre simulation, among the other thousand thing we need to improve? Absolutely, if we ever can hope to get closer to that goal post, ten thousand mile away, preferably within our life time.
Meanwhile, a majority of "SIM" driver still use a controller, so let's not take our self too seriously, enjoy the day and particularly enjoy our software, wheel, etc.... setup to the fullest. Their is along way to go, we might has well enjoy the travel, appreciate what we have and use it to enjoy the best simulation we can achieve.
The developers of games, or simulators if you prefer, when they get together, as we have seen in a picture recently must be laughing so hard when talking about threads like this one and wondering what most of us are smoking.:)

Uh, yeah . . . me thinks it's time for a little vacation from Sim-racing. I clearly take this stuff way too serious. ;)

IMHO original AC (I own it on 2 platforms) is not accurate simulation at all, and I never understood the fanboyism about it.

That said, I love ACC so far (even with the current broken FFB)

AC is not accurate, ACC is not accurate. ACC is presumably more accurate than AC :)
