Here's a ton of ideas folks. No idea about availability of blueprints and data.

A lot of these are classics. There is a ton of character with these cars. They truly capture the spirit of driving.

Awesome news. My vote would go to either the 355, the v8 supercars or the btcc late 90s. Total awesomeness guaranteed either way.

 

Volvo S40 BTCC. Or failing that some kind of Porsche race car, not sure which.

 

I reckon this would be good:-

 

I would certainly say perhaps do a car which has zero chance of ever being done by Kunos. That way in 12 months time or whenever, your work isn't made "redundant" by an official version.

 

As talking about racing cars, i really really would love to see mid-range proper race cars like Skip Barber or something close to Global GT Lights. A lot of good cars are pointed up there, probably the choice is gonna be more, on which car CC have better data and blueprints.

 

V8 Supercars - we have most of the tracks.

 

In the spirit of diversity, maybe a 2015 Ford Fist?

I've kept looking at 30,s Ford's , awesome cars , also physics wise you can customise them how you choose , engine drivetrains , suspension ect ect ,
Not sure how popular they would be , but awesome project nether the less ))

When I read the thread title I thought it was some 'open-source' community project where everybody had access to the latest state of the model through some online repository. And the whole community could get involved. Not sure if this has been tried or if something like this could work for making car / track mods. Perhaps with good communication it could.

 

I plan on creating the car , 3D model , most likely UV and textures too ,
Everyone can vote on the car have a say, choose ,
Once my side is finished anyone can help in the development of it , or I can just leave it with the community to further audio , physics , livery ect ect ,
Or get it finished fully ingame , but every step will be a community project ,
So yes will be available to everyone at all times )

 

I´d go with the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR

or the Audi Quattro 90 imsa GTO

 

we should leave the group 5 stuff to drmrevival. as much as we have some talent here nothing comes close to them for Group 5, they just know too much on the subject

 

Like I say once the model is completed ,anything is possible to get finished with enthusiasm from the community , will just have to wait and see what the car is )

 

Well either way ill try and donate some of my time to help with the physics(assuming its not open wheel, its a pain making physics when you have little to no information).

I trust the judgement of the community, though its very odd that no one has put up something crazy yet, normally you would expect someone to put a thomas the tank engine up and get 50 likes.

 

Probably about a 3% chance it been a open wheeler , with the amount of interest we normally see for road race cars )
