1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    This is right. Reflections are very heavy. Maybe you want to go with "medium" Resolution and a "high" frequency and see almost no difference. but have steady 60fps

  3. Guido Trampe

    Guido Trampe Simracer

    Thanks foor replying. I understand what you are saying but why would reflections be heavy on CPU? I would guess its pure graphical.

    I really cant change settings for reflection to medium. I made this benchmark to see what the outcome would be. But with any setting other than max or OFF (for reflections) you will get a grazy flickering off shaders when in tripple screen setup.

  4. baboon

    baboon Alien

    Reflection rendering frequency is how often the cubemap gets updated with every frame. At lowest it updates at 1/6 of the framerate at highest it does at 6/6 = every frame. So if you run at constant 83fps for example the refection updaterate at low would be 83/6= 13,83/s -> gives the impression of stuttering when looking at the reflection. 83/1 on the other hand would unnecessarily high, good compromise would probably be 83/3.

    Why it takes much CPU, I don't know :confused:

  5. bzucobzuco

    bzucobzuco Hardcore Simmer

    I guess, CPU usage value in benchmark is the value from AC render stats, not the overall cpu usage which you can see in task manager. AC value is imho only main rendering cpu thread value or something else, but not overall ac.exe process usage. AC cpu value can be lower or higher than overall value, it depends on number of physical and virtual CPU cores (2c/2t or 2c/4t or 4c/4t or 6c/12t ...)

    Normal mirror - no reflections.

    I usually drive with the cockpit view but with my virtual face sticking to the windscreen, or slightly beyond, as the normal cockpit view eats around 20fps, so my actual driving experience is better than the stats suggest (hit 70+ when hot lapping or anything from 30-60 when racing AI).

    Adding PP filters (default or natural interior) eats around 13 fps, even no PP and minimal glare knocks me down to an average of 40fps.

    My CPU can chill-out and sip cocktails if it wants (i7).

    I know I need a new rig but spending around £800 isn't going to happen any time soon, not when I'm still running with a DFGT and stock pedals (I know, I'm living in the dark ages) so need to spend what, £300 min, to upgrade those as well.

    FOV=5 (Fiddling around)
    FAR_PLANE=128

    [PHYSICS_THREADING]
    THREADS=6 (Pre test was 4)

    on a side note :- AC fails to use the ASUS ROG Ram Drive for cars and tracks using Junctions
    (not bothered, just testing the I/O speeds of the RD VS HDD )

    works great for the My Documents files, ie Log`s, Temp Replay saves, or GPUCache and so on.
    (yet again not bothered, Testing I/O speeds of the RD VS HDD, having one of those days ;) )

    Nice flow of benchmarks ladies and gents :)

    The game looks a lot better for me with DSR as i have shimmer and flicker at native 19x10, surprised I only loose a few FPS in the bench mark with AA and anso turned up , However I think Mike 1304 is on to something about the wheel calculations not being added into account for the benchmark ?? as lots of players saying the actual gaming is effected a lot more with the higher settings then the benchmark is claiming ..
    I also ran a separate CPU % monitor and it stayed right around 32% in all my tests and also while playing AC as bzuco has shown .....

    Fun tool none the less ! constructive while also giving players a way to flex there gamer muscles ! hah

    ok back to driving .............

    Min=3 happens at start just after loading...otherwise performance is identical. GPU usage at 40 in first occasion, 50-60 at second... all 4 cpu cores are used at around 50 to 80, but reflections don't affect that too much if at all. In 32 bit CPU=72% generally, maybe 2 frames more. Turning off one core doesnt do anything, turn off 2 and it begins to stutter. Any form of v-sync introduces slowdowns and catch-ups. Any settings in Assetto Corsa config don't make a difference. No errors in log about benchmark, online its full of loops. Changed everything I could in nvidia control panel and even in bios.

    I suspect that about 1 time out of 20 the game loads in some particular way and uses 98 percent of the videocard, no matter if online or benchmark...but I'm not completely sure.
