1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

DLSS 3.0 for RTX 40 Series

Well, back to the OP. DLSS3 is supported by Unreal Engine, so even though ACC is probably done seeing additional integration, this would be a nice swan song if it works as well as NVIDIA says it will. Very skeptical here, but sure sounds good (just watched the pitch).

This video is the first true benchmark I have seen for ACC using a 4090.

Which reconstruction method are you using, regular TAA or gen5? Did you try DLSS?

Wow. With DLSS disabled he hit a solid 90 fps at VR High  Cannot wait to see how this new card does on my 13900k!

His test is a bit useless because those built in presets are really old and don't include better reconstruction methods that have been later added to the game, like gen5 TAA and DLSS. He has tested it with the regular temporal upscaling which offers the worst image quality of all.

And yet he still achieved a solid 90fps at VR High.

VR high is only 120% pixel density with mid/low and some settings completely disabled. My preset is 140% pixel density with everything on high. So the game looks twice as good and holds 90fps.

Fantastic. Thanks for the feedback. I guess when I get this new system built I’ll have to revisit pixel density. I’ll surely change my mind about DLSS too. I’m not down with low/disabled options.

Currently using temporal, I was hoping for a 25% (steam vr was at 30%) increase in res with this card and instead steam VR is now at 100%. Dlss didn't help before and made the image blurry, but I will def give it go see it is better with the new card. I'm not looking to max out the look of the game I just need resolution with mid to high settings at 90fps.

I'm on a 4090, 3900x and a Vive Pro 2. There seems to be some sort of weird bug where in SteamVR, 100% is 4980x4980 (which can't possible be right) so I've manually turned it down to 30% which is 3000x3000 per eye. When I use the vr 2 json file, I'm getting 70 fps in fpsvr, with the rest reprojected. It's not very smooth. My cpu usage is 6% which seems ridiculously low, and my gpu usage hovers around 75% which suggests that I'm wasting gpu power (other games eg cyberpunk max out gpu usage at 96%). Am I missing something? And what actual per eye resolution (rather than percentage) is everyone running at?

My file is tweaked for Reverb which has lower refresh rate and resolution than vive pro 2. If you dialed it down to 6000x3000 you're running it at about the same resolution as I do, but perhaps at 120Hz? 4090 won't hit 120fps with those settings, so reprojection will kick in dropping frames and lowering gpu usage. You need different settings to max it out on vive pro 2. You can try 90Hz, but you should probably use higher resolution because the display is better. You would have to test what vr pixel density offers best experience on vive pro 2 without diminishing results. I think you may need to drop DLSS in favour of TAA at 50% resolution, because it's less demanding and still looks reasonably good, or reduce detail. What you really need is RTX 5090 :)

Yeah I saw that video but there the resolution at 100% is typically only a bit bigger than the actual one. Here my actual resolution comes up at 28% in SteamVR which seems strange. I think I've worked out the best thing to do is keep it at 100% in the main settings, then turn it down in the per app setting.

I thought DLSS would only be helpful. Tried TAA at 50% and my gpu usage dropped to 50% but I still wasn't hitting 90hz.

Antych, it sounds like you're running at about 6000x3000 too (do you have your exact resolution?). What's your cpu, and what cpu usage does it show when you're running the game? If I'm using your settings file, and have the same steamvr resolution that I'm rendering at, then the only variable is cpu, right?

My exact resolution in steamvr is 100% which for Rerverb is reported per eye as 3172x3096. fpsVr reports my resolution as 4441x4335 when using 140% pixel density in ACC. I use a 9900K @ 5GHz and the cpu usage is fairly low, I think not even 50%. Unfortunately total cpu usage isn't a good indicator, because it's reported across all cores, and the application could be limited by a single thread.

Have you switched your headset to a 90Hz mode? it's not the same as trying to hit 90fps in 120Hz mode. The reprojection will just alternate between 60 and 120fps.

You can check if your cpu is an issue by temporarily lowering the resolution. Cut it down to something like 2000x2000 per eye, which is nothing for the 4090, if you don't hit stable fps then something isn't right.

Yep headset is in 90hz mode specifically, so only need to get above 90 fps. My overall render resolution is set lower so I get the feeling the cpu is getting in the way. I have half the cores switched off and max power, and the boost only ever gets to 4.4ghz max, and most of the time doesn't even get there. Going to try a very low resolution and see what happens.

I don't know much about the vive, I only had oculus and reverb, but perhaps the reprojection in vive isn't working well or kicks in too aggressively? I completely turned if off on reverb because of this issue. It leaves too much performance on the table, switching to 45fps reprojection when it could handle 90fps. Maybe turn it off and see if it helps.

I was just practicing now so I checked the cpu usage. fpsVR actually shows two values, including max across cores and I get 20% and 40% max, so there's quite a lot of headroom cpu wise and 9900k is pretty old now, so I think it's hard to this have this game cpu bound at 90fps on modern hardware.

So I've got it up and running now at approx 3300x3300 in steam and your settings but 130% vr resolution in game instead of 140%. GPU maxed out at 96%, 90fps almost solid. But I had to turn down the practice race to only 4 cars. So clearly there's a CPU issue going on somewhere. I tried to tweak my cpu and ram overclock but I'm maxed out there. So looks like it's time for an upgrade.

The only last thing I've got left is a purple frame drop about once per minute. Noticeable and very annoying. Possibly because I upgraded to win 11 and that seems to be an issue. Do you get any random but regular purple frame drops?

You can try reducing car LOD. Additional cars are quite heavy on the gpu. I'm skeptical the cpu is at fault, but if it doesn't improve with reduced resolution, then it's the most likely explanation. Not a bad excuse to upgrade :)

I do get occasional frame drops, but not regular and they are barely noticeable. It might help if you shut down unnecessary background apps. I usually close google chrome before a race because it's a bit a resource hog.
