1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I have had mine for about a month or so. Ordered right away. Perhaps in July if memory serves. It is my first proper shifter for sim racing so I have nothing to compare it with except real shifters in cars I have driven. In my opinion, it is outstanding in every aspect. The thing is definitely automotive grade and gives a nice "thunk" when using the sequential. The standard shifter is also great and works very well. The shifter knobs are well made also. Nothing but positives on my end and it makes driving cars like the F40 all the more fun. Sorry for OT ;)

So you ordered yours when they were available on their site and still had to wait for about 5-6 months ?

When I have ordered from Fanatec I have always gotten it within a few days :)

I ordered mine when the preorder began, about a month into it. They sold out almost instantly. Had to wait longer because of it.

  4. Fanatec being sold out almost makes me glad I'm broke for a while........almost

When they are releasing the Handbrake I am going to order both the SQ shifter and the handbrake to complete my rig once and for all :p

Dudes, let's stick to F40 talk in this thread. If you want to talk about Fanatec hardware, you should open your own thread :).

  7. I bet the F40 is alot of fun with the Fanatec shifter :D

Whilst not really relevant to AC, I thought I'd post this here -

As a Ferrari owner, I subscribe to a couple of specialist forums. On one, a guy has been documenting his work restoring an F40 LM - it really has been a marvel and demonstration of attention to detail. Sadly, to see photos you need to be a member.
However, at the weekend, I found this http://www.build-threads.com/build-threads/ferrari-f40-lm-restoration/ (A very photo intensive record of the works done to date) thought you F40-ists on AC would be interested, as certainly for me, when I am ragging an F40 in game, I'm thinking of this particular car and the love and attention its been given.

So as a Ferrari owner how do you rate the Resemblance of the Assetto Corsa Ferrari's

  13. Thanks for these images @Seventyr this car is absolutely a very fine car.
The F40 are one of the best cars Ferrari has created and deserves all the attention it can get. :)

In short, its impossible for me to say. Even if there was a 348 in the game, and oh how I wish there was , you are asking me to compare a virtual car – hit reset when you crash it, with optimised tyres, full factory horsepower with my 22yr old old lady , that I saved (long and hard) and paid for and have put 100’s of hours into (lovingly) restoring. It is the most beautiful and precious non-breathing thing I spend (far too much) time with, no way will I drive it like I drive a car on my computer!

The F40 and the 348 were developed around the same time, and in the same wind tunnel and hence I assume my some of the same people (and I cant help but feel that some lessons learned on each must have been transferred to the other) . I’ve read that both lay claim to the title of “last Ferrari personally signed off by Enzo” - and in some ways they are similar in that arguably they are last “low tech” (and for low tech – I mean pure, no aids, no power steering, manual, gated shifter) Ferraris. (I have ABS – though I’ve never been able to trigger it in the dry)

(and of course it was 348 “mules” that were used in the development of the Enzo)

The 348 has a reputation that varies between ill handling and “edgy” – all I know is that is has more grip (in the dry) than I have talent, and that probably some of that “reputation” is born out of cars that are badly set up, or even setup to the wrong numbers and that Ferrari deliberately made it edgy. (I’m happy with the handling on mine, though I do plan to get it set up on a proper rig once I’m at that stage - and then I will definately be taking it to the track at least once)
My 300hp V8, whilst having a block from the same source as has no where near the same power as an F40 and probably a completely different delivery curve. (I’ve drooled over an F40, I’ve sat in one, but never driven one)

Amongst Ferrari Nerds the 348 is occasionally sniffed at (particularly by 355 owners) but I like theirs too, and mine just a little bit more, and the F40 just a little bit more again.

I know that doesnt really answer your question. The F40 feels "right" in game to me, if there was a 348 I'd be able to give you a better impression. Or did the emote infer youre not sure I actually own it?

I think I am starting to get the hang of it now after + 165 hours of AC :D:D:D

The Ferraris are my favourite cars so far in AC !
They got so much character and every model feels totally different but still Ferrari :p

I think I'm seriously addicted to this Sim and have called in sick now for a week :D:D:D
