1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

"this is going to be a cracking race", "v8 cars from 60s" including gt40 and others. Now :) I love internet.

Beautiful cars and a great circuit, perfect as its hardly changed from the 60s.

Those Cortinas have such tiny tires, even smaller than the Alfa's...

The Cortina is an older design than the GTA, at least the MK1.

To make use of a wider tyre you have to have suspension capable of keep the contact patch of the tyre flat to the ground through its range of motion. 60s suspension involved huge camber changes as it moved so you get most benefit from a narrower tyre, almost the way a motorcycle does as it leans into the corners. That's the way I understand it anyway...

It's not the suspension. Both cars have live rear axles. The Cortina has strut front suspension but the later Escort and Capri also had strut suspension and very wide tyres.

For some reason historic racers adopt small front tyres on the Cortina. It does allow the ride height to be lowered by 20mm but given the nose heavy weight distribution I would have though wider tyres would be better even if they are taller. I must be wrong though.

Aris was of course the driving force behind the Power & Glory mod for many years. I still have hope a Lotus Cortina might appear one day. And Goodwood has done pretty well in the pCARs forum poll for most wanted historic track so if Kunos are looking for future tracks, it should be on their list.

The very oversteery style they seem to favour probably heats the rears a lot more, so the fronts need to be skinny to warm up at a similar pace. But I'm just spitballing...

I love this event: I'm 1:20 behind schedule and just watched the F3 race. A part of me can't believe that they actually Race these suicidal cigars...hats off to that courage. Just check the last corner Shackleton crash...he smashed his helmet so hard on the corckpit some visor or windshield flew away. Who gives u insurance for that theses days?!?

That being said, the races here are the most exiting I've seen in a long time. I thought it would be slightly faster museum parades. I'm glad it isn't :)

The day after...I love everything about this event – thanks @OP for the heads-up. I heard about Goodwood every now and then and I thought: “Meh...no need to watch museum cars being babied around the track” but now that I watched each race (My GF is currently addicted to “Pretty Little Liars” so we both were in our worlds all weekend) I’ll watch the replays of the previous years...2014 is completely and officially present on YT, already checked :)

I like the absence of that technological pressure so much...no talk about new recuperators, no teams being completely uncompetitive because they lack 10 million € for Aero...just simple and proven technology being raced in a fairly sideways fashion ;-)

The second part of the equation are the drivers...holy crap dat racecraft...the respect for the Macchina and the competitors (in most cases). The battle between Nick Swift in the Mini and Alex Furiani in the Alfa GTA should be a force-to-finish video whenever someone clicks “Online” for the 1st time in AC :-D Two cars with similar lap times but completely different driving requirements having such an exciting and clean fight is pure awesomeness cast in race.

It reminds me a lot of a race session @ Spa with Abarth 500s vs. the GTA. I had the Alfa and an equal opponent in the 500. When I made it well through Eau Rouge I could build a gap that was just enough to maintain the lead through the infield. It was scary when I awkwardly manoeuvred the Alfa through the turns watching the 500 flying left to right across my rearview mirror with the fronts already spooling up to pull that thing to the straight...that times 10 is how Furiani must’ve felt yesterday :-D

Also: When Swift managed to get past through a turn some time, he waved Furiani to pass straight away because he knew he lacked the excess speed to maintain the lead in a decent fashion to the next corner. By doing so he made sure both could stick to their natural lines and position for the next attack/defend through the upcoming corner. That is smart and fair racing. Even though Swift lost to Furiani he was going crazy in the cockpit after that great battle.

60fps just kicked in yo !!!1

I don't know if it is proper to post it now, but is sure healthy for this thread. This is some of the better onboard footage. Crazy quality, even "hey" flying inside is visible sometimes when threshold braking. Immersive video.

    Thanks for posting,

I loved all of the live streaming, this race in particular was the best racing I have seen this year.
If you haven't seen it go take a look.

Man I was so gutted I couldn't make it to the Spa Six hours this year. Even bought a new microphone for my dslr just for that.

Enjoy this vid of a classic 911 at spa:

And they drove it like that for six hours, wonderful events. Thanks for sharin'.

That Porsche has interesting tendency to oversteer, especially in the wet Eau Rouge, performing like in a rally stage. :D

  18. David Wright

While early 911s certainly had a tendency to oversteer, I guess its also down to driving style and set-up. This early 911 in the same event is driven with much less oversteer.

  19. mantasisg 2

    mantasisg 2 Alien

It's probably down to style and setup mostly, but also it is dry in your video, here is one more sample of 911 spa oversteering:

I wonder which way is faster, maybe oversteerish style gives faster turn exit ?
