Overtaking

Excellent point. So many people are focused on the short term victory, the overtake, they don't realize that there is an overall race strategy in play in all racing. From the whole race perspective, it's very often the smarter move for all involved to exercise patience and caution when attempting to overtake. I always found it just as much fun to try and force someone into a mistake by pressuring them from behind for a while before attempting an overtake with slightly more risk involved. I'd often feint a pass on the outside to force them inside in the hopes they'd come in too hot and overshoot the apex, allowing me to do an over/under and exit with much more speed to make it stick. Or drive extremely close on the straight almost up until just before the braking point to make them think they might have to brake late because I'm so close.
