Generic Screen tear & frame rate drops ?

Just a general question guys, Ive been reading about all these bugs with Assetto Corsa ( I'm talking bugs not missing features) and it got me wondering, I've been quite honest in regards to the game and I certainly do not wear rose tint glasses, but I can honestly say as bugs go I have only noticed 3 , AI balance and AI pitting I've had no issues with screen tearing or frame rate drops.

I have two copies of this game played on two PS4's mine and my sons neither have these problems, I also have a group of friends that play on the PS4 and Ive spoken to them and none report these issues.

My question is how many of you guys have these issues and what platform are you on ( pc guys need not participate)

I'm only curious you don't have to reply but if you do please keep it respectful and remember I'm only talking about Assetto Corsa no other games.

 

Indeed there is screen tearing and FPS drops but instead of discussing that I'm hopeful that in the near future the only talk of such issues will be along the lines of, 'hey, remember when the game launched and there was screen tear? Well there's none of that anymore, they patched it out!'

So are you saying you suffer from this ? What platform?

 

They have solved the tearing and frame rates are better. I dont know when the patch will be released though.

 

PS4. I noticed both issues within mere moments of my first drive, now the tearing is less of an issues as I'm focused on the driving instead. I get juddering FPS after making contact or impacts and I created a thread to point this out to the devs. The game runs better than I had feared from the preview vids I watched though.

 

Same as op only really the ai pitting/balance.

The frame rate does drop from time to time but nothing that puts me off, no tearing that I can notice, I have looked and watched for it.

Some of the preview vids were shocking don't know how they managed it...but you don't always know who the reviewer is getting paid by nowadays..

I play on ps4 with downloaded game..

 

Mine is also a download game as are my friends and none of us suffer

 

Will be interesting to see if that's common, I had wondered if it made a difference.

 

I also wondered if a fully loadedhard drive would make any difference?

 

Mines fairly empty this is the only game I've downloaded and pcars is the only other game, but that's on disc..no Netflix etc and always power off unplug after use..

 

Mine's physical, Prestige Edition, runs well enough. I'm sure if I was to watch someone else play my game I'd notice more performance issues but when I'm playing it's hard to see them.

From what Marco posted on FB today we should all have nicely optimised games by the end of the month, along with other fixes and updates.

 

Yep some here I've only got Pcars and this and Assassin's Creed

 

I hope you are right, lets see what happens when it goes live on the consoles. I'd still like to ask how the testing missed these issues in the first place, but there we go.

 

I'm on Xbox, I get the bad frame rate slow down, not seen much tearing though. Digital download I've tried it on internal drive, external drive, power save mode of and on, nothing makes much difference.

 

On my copy of the game on the ps4, you can't go a whole lap in any track, without unbearable picture tearing, and frame rate dropping.

We got intentionally cheated, these incompetent programmers knew the console versions are not working properly, and what they did is, sell us the game, and instead of working hard to solve the problem, they are releasing DLC packs, and season tickets, to get more money for this unusable, unfinished, pile of code!

To be honest, I realized now, I was the stupid one, who bought the game right away, because I trusted Sony don't let them **** us over that bad.

this is a new world, we have no rights anymore, Kudos stole my money, by misleading me with the prerelase versions of the game, where no such problems was detected!

 

Trouble is clearly not all systems are getting this issue, many myself inc have no screen tear or frame rate drops , maybe the system they used also didn't suffer ? How full is your hard drive ?

 

I've got it on the PS4, the framerate isn't too bad, it does drop lower than 60, but it's barely perceptible (for me).

As for the screen tearing, it's terrible, if you can't see it, then I'd take a trip to specsavers!

Every system is getting screen tearing, maybe your just tuned out to it, and can't see it, but it's there, FWIW, post some share footage from your system on Magione, the slow corners on that track are plagued by it.

 

I'm on PS4, I struggle with the FPS problems.

 

Had a thorough AC session on PS4 yesterday. Bad FPS drops and tearing..not exactly undriveable but very immersion-braking and irritating.
I'm suspicious about the idea that some systems have the issue and some don't. Maybe you console guys should open a comparison thread where people can post videos of the exact same game situation (Number of cars, weather, track, corner etc.) and give the discussion some facts as foundation.
I speculate that it's the sensitivity to tearing/poor FPS that causes the confusion. I've learned that personal preferences vary a lot regarding this issue.

 

I noticed terrible fps drops seconds after leaving the pits for my first run on the PS4.
I reckon they'll dial it out soon enough though.
