Update 1.14 and RTR DLC impressions

CM has ton of features I don't use, it's starting to get pretty crammed tbh, because it literally has everything you could imagine. But "Good and bad weathers" doesn't work without CM.. it improves AC graphics so vastly, that there is simply no other choice anymore for me. Also, CM custom showroom loads up way faster (fast enough to actually bother to use it for just quick glance of some car)

 

You can. And others are allowed to express why they like something different. I was only giving examples of why I personally prefer CM (which just happened to be contradictory to your reasons for not using it), wasn't saying anyone who doesn't use it is wrong. I'm certainly an advocate of CM because I find it greatly enhances the experience and usability of AC, I do make an attempt to let people know of the benefits of CM but couldn't care less if they take the advice. I don't even know a fraction of the stuff CM can do but I just find it so much easier and quicker to load, close, and select my combos. With CM I can literally be on track in less time than it takes to get to the main menu of the official launcher, that alone is enough reason for me to use it (just my personal opinion).

Odd, I've never had any of those issues, have never had to click below an icon, never had an issue with the graphics options, or controller profiles causing problems, and online basically works exactly the same for me as it does in the official launcher. I tried RHM once and had issues with it so I abandoned it. Strange we could have such different experiences.

Also, again. You're all way off-topic. Make a thread about it if you want to discuss if you find Content Manager a PoS. Doesn't have anything to do with the 1.14 update or DLC, I'd rather read what people think about those and not get the thread closed.

 

Wonderful, wonderful update for AC.
AI is splendid. Sure, there are still some things here and there but it’s AI in a house PC, so it’s just outstanding how the AI improved. Hats off.

The DLC cars are much welcome addition to the roster. I’m having lot’s of fun with the TT RS, the Lotus and the TS040. Again and again I wonder how does Kunos manage to pull it off when either driving a FWD, a RWD, or no matter it it’s a 718 Spyder from the ‘60s or a P1 GTR from now leave me with such a big smile when driving. Fabulous.

Keep it coming and I’ll keep driving them (with one or two extra tracks… if possible?)

Its pretty impressive compared to just 2 months ago. Aggression was set to 70, variance to 4, and difficult to 98.

edit: Changed to correct values for what values AI used.

 

I cleared a couple of special events... The AI on Alien in most cases are too aggressive. Even if you're 1 sec faster than them they so screw up your race at every importunity they got & drive like total douch.

I'm going through the special events too, I'll upload some videos too when I'll have time, there are a few cases where the AI does not seem to be aware of the player car, but overall it's fine.

 

Kunos , why did you change font in name displayer label in 1.14.4 ? Looks terrybly... Please, ini (c). Or revert.

 

I just tried the 250F this morning for the first time since the update... what a difference!!

It now feels just how I expected / hoped it would have felt when it was released - just sublime I had this car on my "I'm not good enough to drive this car fast" list, but now it's so confidence-inspiring. I was throwing it around the 8km Charade circuit this morning, flicking it around the hairpins, squirming under braking, power-sliding around the long T2 - I just love it now

Speaking of 250F handling, I liked older one more, even though it had something wrong, and may have been not as accurate. I really liked it's floaty feeling, and careful steering, liked how it used to shake when sliding in big angle fast

Right now it is A LOT quicker, much less oversteery, it is understeery now actually. Had to learn how to avoid that understeer, because it was quite annoying. It is same car on the very edge, but feels like it's edge is just pushed further, and is slimmer, as before it was almost on the edge from the very moment it moved from stationary position

Much better balance, but hard to avoid understeer at mid corner. New 250F feels more like 60s car than 50s to me, but I have no idea how they should be. And 250F is our oldest car from Kunos. maybe it handled like 30s ?

 

Thank god, the Escort is still sliding out of turns like it did before.
After seeing how much more planted the 250F is now I feared the Escort had been tamed as well, just glad it's still as much fun as before.

 

...and now I just feel like a terrible driver Like someone has said to me "You use assists? LOL!"
