The Challenge.
Car: Toyota Supra MKIV Time Attack <- Japanese pack DLC
Track: Brands Hatch - Indy

Well first off apologies, you have to put up with me again *waves* Unfortunately I seem to have broken Flickr so no screen shots for this one I'd blame beer but I don't think I'd get away with that again...

The TA Supra, 690 bhp Semi slicks H pattern gearbox Comedy blow off valve The car is a bit of a beast as it comes on boost it will spin the rear wheels and try to spit you off into the nearest Armco barrier! Default it comes with a relatively sensible amount of boost, but hey that can be changed with a few button presses

Our first visit to the iconic Brands Hatch Indy circuit, it has been part of the UK time attack scene for a while now so fits this car like a glove, with such a short lap every corner matters!

Time of day: Free
Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
Setup: Free
Controller: Free
Assists: Factory
Stability:Free
Penalties: On <--- Only applicable to Practice mode.

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, I really don't like disallowing times!

The Deadline.
Sunday May 28th - 22:00 BST (GMT+1)

How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap / Practice choose the Toyota Supra MKIV Time Attack and head to Brands Hatch - Indy. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature.


Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier.

The optimal PSI for SM tire for this car is 34PSI on track(don't input 34PSI on the setup menu. It won't work). I suppose it's the same on console.

First few flyers. Finally got tyres pressures right and gears are set to 5.000. Great little track and a beastly car. Nice combo.

I share my setup as usual.

The inside tire tend to stay cold, so I upped the differential at 50% on both, also upped the turbo to 80%. I didn't touch the camber & also stiffer the rear spring. I lowered the front damper by 1 click . I also maxed the rear downforce.

 

On console (at least PS4) we cannot change the front/center/rear differential...all greyed out.

 

I was talking about the differential -> coast & power setting. I doubt they're greyed out. The differential help the inside tire while cornering to gain heat.

Like on coast the inside tire heat up by getting traction while off throttle
Obviously on power the inside tire gain heat from throttle.

Upping the differential doesn't make the car oversteer if the inside tire is not getting traction(blue, as under the optimal tire temperature).

mid 50 is definitely out of my range with my driving & setup ability.

 

On RSR leaderboard best recorded time is 51:861. So 50,5 seconds is not good. I repeat not good.
I will ask GravelTrap if he can arrange a virtual doping test. Or do you use shortcuts again. Like a couple of months ago at Nordschleife. Or was that another Alien Racer? Just joking of course. What a great time again!!

I scraped 0,2 off my first time to 52,6xx. Screenshot will follow soonish. And when I say soon then I mean today
It is now too hot in my race room and I'm enjoying the spring sun.

First try this week after a few weeks of pausing (got some new hardware). Not my car and not my track (layout) ... first and last corner are always nasty. Spend a lot of time playing Elite Dangerous in the past weeks, so i'm a bit rusty. Maybe i'll get better until the end of the week
