1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

1.5 Update is out!

Makes me wonder if it's just overspecialization... if you train enough on a car and then it's suddenly 2 seconds quicker, your reflexes will be telling you "this is really easy to drive" because you're doing what you learned, and the car's that much less close to the edge of grip than it used to be.

I know when I go from street cars into a Formula Abarth, it feels really easy to drive - good brakes, no trouble putting full throttle, tons of cornering grip. The difference is that as a formula car, you can apply inputs 2-3 times as fast and it's set up to respond well to that. For example FAbarth braking consists of 100% brake pedal, as fast as your foot can hit the floor. Very little waiting for weight transfer and with the amount of grip it has, you're not going to lock up tires until you lose aero load. In a road car you have to take your time and make sure that you adjust steering to compensate for where the weight's going.

Of course it's pointless to look at that and say "oh the Abarth has no simulation value, only street cars are realistic", that's not the real difference between them.

Anyway, real cars aim to be simple - the fewer unexpected behaviours they have, the safer they are to drive. From a car manufacturer point of view, the ideal car does exactly what you want every time you ask it to. Turn the wheel left, car goes left. Hold it straight, car goes straight. They'll dial out oversteer/understeer to the extent that it's possible to eliminate oversteer in a 500hp car.

Just received a small update - realtime app update and fix to audio. 1.5.9 (run of of numbers? :))

Sorry if posted before - only just launch for first time since Sunday night.

  3. 10 comes after 9 you know? ;) I think we already had version that went over 9.
Anyway, I think we're done for 1.5 so this should be the last one.
