1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Fast drivers and g27/g25

  1. I agree that a better brake spring or mod, whatever, will make you quicker than a better wheel. Unless you are using a pretzel.

Especially in the cars with massive brake performance like the open wheelers, a better spring makes a huge difference. Going from the GTEye spring back to the standard G27 one was like molesting myself with a hot iron covered in fire-ants. And in no way is that enjoyable.

It's also more difficult to heal and toe when the brake pedal is way below the level of the throttle pedal, which you get from a ****ty spring vs a stiffer one.

Yes@martcerv and the g25 was released in 2006 and the g27 in 2010...

2 month ago i bought a t300. Before i had a driving force pro (old DFGT)
At first I was even slower then the DFP. Now iam not faster, but it feels much smoother and more accurate.

0.02 €: DFGT --> G27: perceived improvement in lap times (no numbers here but I have a gut feeling that G27 times would have been faster). Could corner more steadily, get back on throttle sooner. Reason: more inertia in the wheel, more counter pressure from the pedals.
T500RS: Same improvement over DFGT, no improvement over G27.
DFGT is really great value but the low wheel inertia made me over-correct sometimes. A heavier wheel helps (me).

My g27 must be broke then. I like the sound of this brake mod jobby. I'm going to have a look at that anybody have any preferences? It's been at least a week since I've taken something to pieces!

There was a pool at one time on GT Planet and G25/27 was what driver use the most. So it make sense it is also that way in times results.
I have owned and tried a few wheels, none of them made me any faster.
I believe my load cell pedals make me faster, but I have no proof.
Same with narrower FOV, but again no proof.
When a wheel will make us faster it will be very obvious in time sheet, but since fast driver are also fast with game pads, It does not seem that the type of controller used has much to do with it.

  7. It because the g25s and 27s have built in cheat assists that drive you round the corners themselves perfectly like the old benneton f1 car, so anyone who is fast with them wheels are cheaters and u can discount them times :eek::D

I had gt eye spring with my g27. it helped give the pedals a bit of feel. its cheap to buy and you can upgrade all 3 by puting your old brake spring in your clutch and your old clutch spring in your throttle. g pedals are absolutely awful though, if your ever thinking of an upgraded wheel, consider keeping your wheel and just buy some decent pedals instead. csp's are the best upgrade ive ever done for sure.

People should care more about driving ergonomics than the wheel they are driving with. Comfy driving position gives you better times than anything else.

Here are the stats for AC users on RSR timing and this explains why the logitech wheels have more quicker guys simply because they are most used and good enough to not hurt your laptimes over other wheels.

Not everyone is on RSR........ but the fact's still remain, G25/27 have the most usrs.

Like @esox71 says they are the most common wheel setups so you will see them more.

Guys who buy wheels/pedals/shifters etc are obviously guys who are into their sim racing so will be quicker because they probably practice more, i went from a G27 to a Thrustmaster wheel and shifter and Fanatec pedals, it made no difference to my speed.

If you buy a good rig to make you faster you will be disapointed, you should buy good kit for the imersion factor.

The only thing that makes you faster is practice practice and some more practice

I remember that Shaun Cole said, during the review of a DD Servo wheel, that a DD Servo wheel doesn't make you faster. If a DD wheel doesn't make you faster, than a G25/27 isn't either.

I don't feel much difference between the G27 and the T300RS except that the T300RS doesn't make so much noise and the FFB (as little FFB that I prefer) is less jerky, but smoother.

I believe that I have read some time ago that there are iRacing racers whom are faster with a DFGT compared with other whom have a Fanatec.

When I started the thread it was more like if the force in other wheels put people off. No matter if it was better (logical that it should be) or worse and easier to controll. But yeah, if so many people using logitech compared to other brands its pretty obvious why it is that way. :)

Well, more expensive gear to be faster is kinda both truth and lie... i bought a gt omega cockpit and since then i managed to practice more than when im sitting at my desktop in a bad position. If i wanted to become an alien for £300? No. But the practice im getting with it is far beyond what i would manage at my desktop (probably my office chair and my back messing with me because i cant sit really straight).

How is it in TAM btw? Do most people use Logitech there or which brand is it?

Would be interesting to test it out if its really the wheel or the driver who makes the difference. Watching the answers here it seems like its mostly about the driver than the wheel.

It is, believe me. Just like putting Rosberg in F1 car or me in a F1 car. Who will be faster? Me Rosberg ofcourse. :D

What does make a simracer faster is probably a decent brake pedal, not the steering wheel.

I'm almost as fast with my SRW S1 in AC as with my T300RS.

Rosberg cant even drive, put me in the car and ill show him hehe.. yeah but im with you on this.. I did never really think that its _that_ much easier with g27/5 but mostly if they felt that they could actually drive the car to the limit with it. But we got the answer black on white.

and as @Nick Moxley said, some drivers doesnt even use rsr.
