1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I wait for such setup-tutorials too. Perhaps if Aris can teach me what all this stuff is for I will develop more enthusiasm for setups. Till now I don't use individual setups at all because I only have fun with driving/racing.
For guys like me there should be a "virtual mechanic" who does the setup for me and who pumps up my tires to the right pressure. So that I can jump in and start driving/racing.
So I'm more interested in videos about racing line, reference points (like Aris first video) and driving techniques (drifting for example) than setup-videos but I like getting surprised. Perhaps one day I will spend more time in the garage than on track...

Hope you will find the time to make a few more.
I'm looking forward to learning about car setups from the man who knows ;)

Nice video for people who do not have figured these things before. My problem more is a lack of consistency, and I simply am too careful, too cautious in driving, always playing it safe. :D I lag behind Aristotelis in that car on that track by 2 seconds - compared to his very first attempt in the video, 1:15. I'm hopeless. :)

A video like this, dealing with the not so ordinary car setup options beyond tyre pressure and tyre choice (stuff like camber, springs etc., toe in/out) would be appreciated. But i also assume it might be more difficult to do and illustrate things.

    Thanks for doing this vid!

This is a helpful reset for those of us who spent a 'little' time on the basics before focusing most of our time on setups as the means to overcome all that sliding, diving, squealing tire driving that slowed us down :D. I decided to test my skills by driving this combo as I normally would. I could not break 1:16 no matter what I did. I watched the video several times, absorbing the racing lines, when he got on the throttle, what gears are used for what corners etc. Fortunately, this track is a good one to learn quickly due to its short length and few turns. After two sessions of 5 laps, I broke below 1:14 with Pro settings consistently just by following these basics.

What this does for me is to open up the possibility of becoming competitive on more technical GP tracks where I really struggled and was frustrated....Nurburgring GP, Silverstone GP etc. Thanks for reminding us to first build AND maintain a solid foundation before moving to the next level. Your channel is now up on my fav list.

For @Skybird , @Biner and everybody else in similar situation... first of all guys, please don't take this as some kind of offence or arrogant, it really is the best advice I can give you as passionate about driving as well. I have to remind to myself too every time so it seems very simple, but it is extremely important. So here goes:
If you are lapping at around 1:16-1:17 mark then you really really need to focus exclusively on your driving technique. Not that a setup can't help you, but believe me when I tell you, if someone is driving 3-4seconds faster than you, then you are driving two different cars.
I don't mean this as an hyperbole or exaggeration. It is completely true.
The feedback he gets and gives back to the car, is completely different from the feedback you get and give back to the car. This also means that the necessities you have from the car are completely different from what the other guy needs. For whatever reason, it's not important why, it's not a matter if you're slow or faster or more talented or less talented... if the gap is this big, the feedback is completely different.
So first concentrate on driving technique, then and only after you're say at around 2 secs of a difference, start looking on setup. Because when you'll going to ask for advice or even exchange opinions on the car, you'll start talking the same language. It's extremely fascinating on how a car handling can change from oversteery to understeery and vice versa, just by putting more laps on it and changing nothing at all on the setup. Just different driving style or technique.

    Cheers guys

  9. 1.12 mark is reachable with few practice laps with the same setup as Aris tried, below that laptime is really fine driving. There are some 1.11 laptimes i've seen on RSR leaderboard.
I setup a server with that combo, look for AC_Uruguay_Argentina

  10. Was able to do 1:12.5s on default setup and 99% grip, might have another go and see where I can improve.

I think normally I'd be further away, but as it happens Silverstone International is one of my go to test tracks, so I know it well.

I don't want to hijack this, but Street Fight will run M235i on Silv. Intern. on saturday or sunday. ( not sure yet)

I think I've gone to 1:11.8 or so, default setup and only the tyre pressure adjusted. I guess it could settle down to low 1:11's, maybe even 1:10's by the really fast guys.

Just an OT technical thought: A 1080p/60Hz video of 41 minutes uploading with 0,8MB... must take a serious amount of time!
That's one reason why I only upload short videos very rarely (apart from lack of ideas ^^).

Nice video btw., quite interesting, subscribed! ;)

  14. Schnipp

Either fixed or slightly modified. atm I'm thinking of fixed to default setup and only allow pressure adjustments. (we might use the M235i on other tracks, so I leave that open; and now I've missed my race :( )

  15. Yes! Done a 1:11:8, took quite a few laps but got under 12 in the end! 99% grip with stock setup, fuel would have been less than 30l though as it was about 10 laps in or so.

Next lap I somehow was 3 tenths up on my delta, lost it all though and gave up :D Its the corner onto the Hangar Straight (quite bumpy) that seems to be hit or miss for me, sometimes I feel like I've got a great exit but my delta goes red, and vice-versa.:p

Can get back to modding now, Aris distracting everyone from their work...

You got a good clear way of explaining things Aris. If you wouldn't be doing physics for a racing game maybe you could have had a career in front of the classroom. ;)

Hi Aris quick question you mention just using your right foot for brake and accelerator but while watching the pedal app I noticed in most turns they both are on sometimes, is this heal and toe? I would love it if you can put a camera on your pedals and watch you work. Thanks again.

You should pin this video (and the upcoming videos, hopefuly) to AC's launcher and create a driving academy section :p.
