1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

How is Assetto Corsa going to beat pCARS2

    Not at all, I prefer AC/AMS/rF2 handling over R3E (RR) handling - not because they are harder / easier but, because they satisfy my passion for Sim-racing with that certain visceral and immersive quality. That is probably the biggest question I have about PC2 handling right now but, slightly more grip might be okay so long as the sweet-spot is present; PC1 failed to provide that IMO.

    When pushing a car near it's limits, I expect there to be some little "uh-ho" moments - maybe even occurring on every lap but, most should be recoverable and repeatable because there is a balance margin in which we can operate very near the threshold of grip. AC / AMS/ rF2 offer that kind of experience for me; the others either don't or they have too many other things that combine to detract from it.

    In terms of sales, PCars has sold way more than AC. No match.
    If we consider the niche of us.. semi-serious simracers, probably PCars didn't really succeed.. but I don't think they do care much about this.

    In this niche AC is succeeding, beating rF2, Automobilista and R3E in terms of active players (and sales too, probably), with numbers which are pretty good for a relatively "hardcore" sim.

    Can PCars 2 pull it off and bridge the gap between Forza and rF2, thus grabbing the AC cake? Well, why not, I hope they go that direction because that's where I am :D If PCars 2 is AC+rain+night+MP features well that's awesome. We just have to wait and see.. hoping they really care about us.

    All their marketing is about what they simulate so it sounds like "we" are what they try to target atm. They have regular gamers locked down already with the graphics and all cool cars.

    Funny you say that. I was playing R3E a lot a while back. But I've been pretty much non-stop in AC for the past few months. I tried R3E again the other day, and noticed the same thing with the FFB. It's not bad, just felt less complex, like you said. And it was definitely more forgiving. I was getting away with things I new I could never do in AC. I was planning to do some FFB re-tuning in R3E this weekend to see if that was it.

    well FFB is different thing .. I like it in R3E .. gives info, gives good feeling .. all of mentioned sims have good FFB, different but good

    I actually don't fully agree on that. Regular gamers too want to believe what they play is superior to Forza and GT.

    As in rF2, R3E FFB can be heavily customized (using notepad). Others offer the same possibility.

    They do indeed but at the same time PC2 have to be careful not to alienate the 'regular gamer'. I have to admit I consider myself wanting a more 'realistic' simulation or maybe more realistically 'driving feel' so I opted for AC and love it.

    I recently purchased rFactor 2 (for night racing/weather) and am currently picking up pieces of my exploding head. I thought I wanted the hardcore, I can't handle the hardcore :p

    They would market it as if it's for pros though. that sounds good in marketing. If they said it's got ok physics because most our customers don't know the difference it's going to sound bad. So I wouldn't read too much into the fact their saying it's a great simulator. They have to say that and it's to impress average players. I'm sure if your took all the racing games from AC to forza you'd find they all pretty much say the same thing about their software, even though they can be radically different.

    There is hardcore done well and hardcore not done well. So someone said... :)
    And the same is true for simple but complex games.

    According to their latest marketing PCARS2 is the best simulation out there... a statement like that doesn't appear aimed at the professional market to me.

    It's not. It's aimed at the casual and sim-cade racer that doesn't know enough to see through it. Especially on the console side, where they've never experienced the likes of rF2, AMS, R3E, iRacing, or even AC for that matter, because it's relatively new on console, and the console version is still lagging behind the PC version. Those types of buyers believe the hype.

    I think these features would be welcome in every sim, specificly those people prefer. :) Oooor pick the physics of a sim and use them in another game. AC's would rule in Forza Horizon. :D

    I meant with that the things I listed that aren't in AC. Timed races, flying starts, formation laps and multiclass in singleplayer.
