The biggest sim race of all time

Put up a million dollar prize, save as much money on software with little to no beta testing. Surely they could have run multiple race simulations before the real event and fixed the code at least.

At least they said they chose rf2 for the best simulation value, they must have been using PRC as a consultancy service.

 

You are right, it's not rF2's fault but then the rF2 guys should have taken more care of it because after seeing this I'm not compelled to buy a copy when otherwise it would have been a great chance for rF2 to get promoted.

 

If this race happens next year.

rF2 could be on DX11 and VR support by than.

It would improve the quality immensely.

 

Well, you are assuming too many things maybe. Like, assuming that rF2 guys were involved.

 

Seeing ISI is no longer involved in RF2 and have moved on to other things its not likely they had any part in this other then the base code.

I am just not a big fan of street style tracks. The graphical quality and track detail is a separate issue. Luccaring certainly looks like a very good quality mod.

Nope more lies from them, Mak Corp responded to an RF2 Facebook post saying they had nothing to do with the event.

From the looks of it this Cloud Sport company might have done it all, track, apps, etc. I guess they also used some existing mod, maybe even the Mak Corp one.

Advertising with AC graphics, delivering badly done (Edit: modded) rF2.. Sounds good.

 

I wonder how this event was discussed if they did that race in AC.

Do you really think it would have been any better? Maybe on the graphic side of things, but track, cars and plugins would have created the same mess as they did in RF2.

 

Yea, beats me why they didn't just ask iRacing to do this thing and instead they went and found this crappy company.

 

knowing how these things usually work they probably asked but went for the cheapest solution with the results we can see.

Knowing a bit more, they likely didn't ask them, and went with the software they know and tried to maximize profit as much as possible.
