ACC has got worse with every update.

When it was first released I liked it. I defended it on these forums against a tidal wave of vitriol from both sides of the console wall.

Unfortunately as we approach it's first birthday on console we are worse off than day one.

Some players are still enjoying it and good luck to them.

I looked into the PC thing but it's simply too expensive for the amount I play. Not to mention that my friends are on PlayStation platform.

I'm not ready for turning to the dork side.

The whole episode has turned me away from the sim racing hobby in general. I'm just a casual gamer. I'd rather go on GT Sport or Ride4 and enjoy some online play on optimised software.

AC got me into sim racing. ACC has led me back out.

 

That's a very interesting point. The enjoyability if that's English. I've been having a great time lately doing some online races. I have no friends... so trying sometimes the public races on xbox. Good few problems with it but overall a good time. I'll say one of 3 races are fun. Lots of idiots on it and sometimes in a middle of the race it just goes I don't know why. That's one of the reasons why I think PC. I'm maybe wrong but I have the feeling it wouldn't happen as much and more variety.

I’m a little like Moodyrider in enjoying games of all sorts and the instant ease consoles bring. But I was lucky enough to get an XSX when they launched. AC is great, but ACC for GT3 / 4 is just such an intense visceral experience it’s difficult for me to drive those same cars in AC - they seem to smooth and lack the non-stop intensity. But I certainly wouldn’t be saying that if I was still on original Xbox.

I love ACC as well as AC on XSX, neither of them are perfect or as good as running on a half decent PC, but they are both still very, very good anyway. But I also love a blast in Forza, or Ride, or even the occasional headshot in Halo - hence console. If I was a strictly sim guy then a PC would definitely be top of my shopping list. SlowAudi might be a good one to explain having just made the jump from PS4 to PC?

 

@Emmanuel Tubbiolo , check otlracing.com and their channel on discord, you tend to experience much better races there, instead of open races in AC.

Well, the two weeks I thought it would take me to move and sort out my computer and oculus problems have finally come and gone! (ahem, 5 months later hahahah). I still have a few issues to sort out but I can at least put some lap times in now.

It seems I am out of practice when it comes to whc etiquette - I forgot to take a pic, DOH! But I did remember to take a vid, which does show my laptime and the track settings. Thankfully, I actually have high speed internet now and I was able to upload the vid without having to downgrade the quality at all, and I did it in only 6 min! Thats a miracle as far as I am concerned, lol.


My previous PB on this combo was 52.713 back in Nov 2018. Not sure if that coincided with the last whc challenge or not... Anyways, I was glad to see that I was able to shake of a few months of rust by knocking out a new PB. I guess simracing is just like riding a bike eh?

I started with the tune I had saved, and I ended up softening the suspension quite a bit, adjusted fuel and psi. My tune is posted at the end of the vid.

Time for me to go and read through the thread, I was just so excited to post I skipped to end hahaha.

It's @caly82 all the way! Three great lap times gets him a P3 and two P2s for a total of 7 Points and comfortably ahead of 2nd placed @Emmanuel Tubbiolo . With only a 2 point gap to third, he is not so comfortably ahead of me though.
@Laughing Gravy and recently out of retirement @moodyryder have also completed the challenge, with LG having the upper hand by a margin. Off to "the home" with you Moody!

In the events, @F1415182235 drops in with the fastest lap in the Escort, and @mike reynolds shows he's still got a great AC touch, but it's AC 2 where the sparks have been flying! Caly82' s lap is demon. But very close behind is @local_man1234 , a great duel going is on there. In AC 3 @Emmanuel Tubbiolo joins Caly 82 in the 49s a Spa. That's a great lap time - 0.003 off P2!
Finally, welcome back @Pretend racer !! Into P2 in the Escort, and 2/10ths up, after 3 years... and perhaps a bit rusty.... (I thought you had left, I've put your original times into the intro thread leader boards.

I used the same setup as last time. I tried moving the brake bias back one click because I felt like I was locking up too much. I ended up putting the brake bias back to where it was and just tried to be smoother hahaha. Fun car. Hard track.

Here's my lap but it seems I am still suffering from the red screen of death syndrome. Not sure why that happens...

Same setup as last time. This car likes to push, and its quite an adjustment coming from the lotus. I don't know how the hell @GoodGame.eXistenZ was able to extract all the speed out of this car, but well done sir!
