1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Dirt rally

Discussion in 'Chit Chat Room' started by Psit, Apr 27, 2015.

  1. Earlier versions I've tried have not been even close to the quality of the current version. I still see some strange behaviour which might be related to the aerodynamics but for the first time the cars are controllably all over the place which is pretty much the DNA of rallying. Now I truly believe this might end up being something truly awesome! ;)

    for me still even though the alt mod felt in a physics sense good. ( i could sense the car had better overall dynamics) the ffb still borks this game. Maybe its better on a DD wheel i dunno.

    I havent tried it woth my DD wheel but I cant see how DD can save crappy FFB. The accuforce with simcommander can probably do more then most but I got over dirt rally a while back. I dont think I have it installed anymore, if I do I can have a play and see if any accuforce guys have some suggested settings for this game to try.

    I had best results with Dirt Rally using the AccuForce and SimCommander FFB (Telemetry-based). When I tried it using the game-FFB, I wasn't able to achieve the same results. I think if it can be done with the OSW, the custom config-files such as Impact-V7 (Race Dept) might offer the best chance - at least, that's what some say in the DR-thread / GD forums. There are some recommended settings there too.

  6. Not close to my pc but I can give some rough numbers. Using Impact V7-mod.

    Ridiculous MMOS settings:
    - Max force ~50%
    - Damper effect 100%

    In-game:
    SAT, Wheel friction, tyre friction and suspension between 80 - 100%. Collisions and stuff way lower.

    I'm fairly happy with the feel but have to play with the balance of SAT and wheel weight when going from gravel to tarmac. Not doing that with every car but some cars have so much SAT that it makes the wheel go crazy on tarmac.

    Sorry guys but im the only one who like the FFB (vanilla) that offers the game?? For DD wheels I don't know because I have a T500 RS.. But reading most guys with consumer wheels state that the FFB is crap make me nervous.. The problem is yours i think.. You are not capable to make good settings.. Sorry I don't want to be rude, I m Italian and I don't write well in english.. With consumer wheels there is no reason to install impact V7.. Vanilla FFB is very good.. Guys with t500 or t300 or similar, try my settings that I have posted on previous page.. After that there is no possibility to have crap FFB.. In fact is very good.. You have to put most settings to 0%..like collision and others.. The important settings are the first 4..Others are like fake effects or effects that worsens the FFB or weightened to much the wheel.. Loosing all the important details.. And this is a fact (with consumer wheel).. Can you please try my settings and after that you make new sentence? I'm curious (-:

    all due respect I don't think its nothing new about dr ffb. It's just inconsistent among stages and hard to find a happy medium. you get one car and stage ok and the best car and stage feels crap. Other rally titles have better ffb globally.

    I personally dont have this problems..yes is not the best ffb on the market and can change a little from car to car but for me 90% of the time is very good..and others 10% is not that bad.. you dont have answer my question, have you tried with my settings??(-: Im 100% confident that if you can reproduce the exactly or similar feelings that i have, you surely change your opinion...Try with my settings and let me know what you think(-;

    Maybe you only need to raise a bit the first 3 settings because your T300 is less powerful then t500..but the settings that i have put at 0% leave it at 0%.

  11. I know that you can't do the career mode with this mod, but is it possible to do a complete Rally (with 10 stages or so?)

    You can do even the career, the only problem is that the new physics can make increase a lot your time.. so its a lot more difficult(-;

    IMPORTANT: for playing the career you have to play the game only with the files that are present in the "alternate version" because original rfpe have others files like more damages ecc. that are not compatible with career mode...from now "alternate version 0.8" you can install it without the rfpe(-; I only recommend you the file "audio" from rfpe that enhances the sounds(-;

  14. Ok mate, that is bloody fantastic, because that is what discouraged me from using the mod so far. I guess i have a new favourite sim :) more difficult is good, the times are too easy in Vanilla anyway. I am looking foward to fight against relegation from now on :D

    Just curious; how are the sounds enhanced?

    I feel that DR already has some of the best audio in the business.

    After playing with it a bit, I think with vanilla physics FFB makes more sense as much as it can in DR. Tarmac feels just as bad as with OEM physics except I had to increase all FFB effects from 35 to 50 to get the same strength.
    The crucial part with standard physics (as with D4) is to drop Wheel Friction, to very low 0-15% depending on wheel and preferences and have some damper in MMOs.
    Still jolts and spikes in FFB signal will never make this title FFB very attractive.
    Never liked impact_v7 custom FFB.

    The files audio enhances the anti-lag sounds.. like when the game came out(-;

  18. Do the setups used in the vanilla version still make sense with the modded physics?

  19. miky

    miky Hardcore Simmer

    No i dont think is a good thing...because the differences in the physics are to much...i mostly use stock setup because im not that good at make setup and i dont have to much time, i simply took a car and go... aniway i ask the creator for explanations(-; i remember that he told me to change a little the setup to correct for example understeer, if too much.. but i seem to remember that he told me to start from a new setup and delete those olds (-:

  20. Ok @miky, mille grazie for the quick answer. Would be nice to learn more about it from the creator
