1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I think it is easy to become jaded when you have driven a car a lot. I have only tried 1 track so far but got it feeling better with some setup changes. Im sure I can match my best time on the server with the new restrictor setting.

  2. What do you mean by "restrictor"? I managed to beat my previous PB @ Silverstone National with the updated AE86 Tuned, but the AE86 Drift seems to have serious problems (and others have highlighted this).

  3. Berniyh

    Restrictor reduces the engine power.

afaik, the suspension problems only affect the drift version of the AE86.
But I didn't drive either of them since the update, so can't be sure.

    Yes as Berniyh said.

Id set a time in the new version but with higher restrictor % than pre update... I adjusted it back down but havent tried again since. It is a shame stracker doesnt show restrictor % like it does ballast.

  5. I am just a bit puzzled why you would want to reduce the power

To make the cars balanced and closer in pace.

Its great for many cars but for those 2 in particular. One of the best balanced grids I know of. Plus its a tuner car so call it a map or tune rather than air restriction and it makes perfect sense.

I cant see any 2 cars IRL being identical and can easily imagine a particular event or series with different regs where a car has a little more weight or a bit less power (if I needed to ground it IRL rather than for enjoyment/racing benefit) if you dont want to use any of the tools available to balance cars thats fine but dont be surprised if other people do.

  8. I think we have crossed wires here. I was assuming that Andy was testing the AE86 Tuned to see how it matches up to the car prior to the 1.14.4 update. That being the case, I assumed that he would have been testing at 100% power.

I was testing vs stracker times from a previous build with the 2 tuned cars at NJMP (and necessary restriction on 86.) I got the restriction wrong initially though.

    It's finally released!

Will be racing this beast tonight alongside the 917K for anyone that is interested.

Thanks Leif, glad you liked it :)

Fun racing this evening, these cars arent easy :p not a huge amount of close racing as a result but still very good fun. Maybe a bit less restriction on the 917K next time... which will probably be tomorrow with a new track :D

By looking at my laptimes, I think that the cars were well matched.

Though, in very first race I have easily almost done 1'28 with Lola, with default setup. And later I just couldn't get faster with various setup changes.

I had setup for 917K already.

I always forget to ask this.

Why no one ever makes races on extreme low grip ? The lowest grip used in online racing is usually 96, I don't watch temps too much, but I guess it is rarelly getting bellow 20.

Some cars are really good in low grip conditions. For example Maclaren F1 GTR, actually many are. Why not to use Dusty grip and 10C combo ?

It is getting a bit philosophical there lol But is it because people are usually always going after PB laptime under given conditions, which in ALOOG usually are 96-98percents ? But stracker lapstats shows grip percentage, so I don't think that problem is there.

The fact that people never really race on lowest grip, makes it even clearier that rain isn't so necessary to simulate. For wide audience, obviously.

Also mandatory pitstops... never used anymore.

If you request an oily track one day... it shall be so! We have used low grip occasionaly, 70 or 75% starting grip for icy Poznan IIRC.

I'll request it when you guys will need requests :)

I've seen T70 at Thomson Road, seems like a nice combo. I wonder if 917K would need restrictions for that track.

70-75 is like mid wet track grip IMO, of course also depends on waht are default friction parameters in surfaces.ini

That time I was adjusting the Spa/ GT2 server and "accidentally" put starting grip at 10% instead of 100%.
