Getting blacklisted for using the apex......

I wanted a race or two tonight, but the options were totally uninspiring. A couple of GT2/GT3 servers that were running Monza, an F40/Yellowbird server @ Spa that was 12 laps (and looked like it was going to be some time before I could start the next race), and a Formula Abarth server (which I have no interest in whatsoever). I really wish that Freude am Fahren server was populated more often, or the Gamers Crib server. I get the chance to drive some of the road cars on those servers, but it seems that people are only interested in racing GT cars or the F40 and Yellowbird. Why the hell is that last combo so popular? Granted it has helped me to get to know the F40 a bit better, but there are so many decent cars available to race in AC! Why the hell are we restricting ourselves to a handful?

I really don't get it

 

the ruf vs f40 is more used now because only recently the ferrari got an opponent in the game, before you'd just drive it in practice/hotlap. the gt2/3 also have close/similar opponents and they are just easier to drive without much hassle.

I play on plenty of server who are about these kinds of rules. But not a Nazi about it.

 

Q14.4.2.b states that:
‘a driver will be judged to have left the track if any wheel of the car either goes beyond the outer
edge of any kerb or goes beyond the white line where there is no kerb’
For illustrative purposes, the images below show cars in acceptable and unacceptable positions.

So I can't be on the kerb? Because that's where I was when I got kicked.

 

What are you talking about? You quoted my post, so I thought you might have at least read it!

Sorry... I actually didn't read all of it. Was leaving school when I wrote the reply and was in a bit of a hurry lol

But. On imola, the first chicane, I made a pretty nice entry I might add. Then came the second. Too much throttle, and was on the grass, let off the gas, dropped into a lower gear(I was on the left side) and merged back on. By the next corner I was blacklisted.

Sick of people coming in the TAM servers and taking liberties at Monza, Spa etc.
I'm a... two wheels on track at all times, type of guy myself.

Gentlemanly racing is about keeping a level playing field.
I mean, some folks think it's ok to run wide at certain corners, so how wide can they go and where does it end.

To me... Running wide with 4 wheels outside the white lines is like cheating and is as bad as cutting in some instances.
The worst is when someone's trying to catch you and you can see them in your mirror never staying within the white lines.
Then when they overtake you through more or less cheating for the last laps, it's only then they stop running wide and start playing by the rules.

The thing is even the in game cut system classes most kerbs as track. So definition of track limits is for some the white line and others the kerbs. Yet the game in most sections of official tracks do define kerbs as track.

I think Spa is a little too soft on track limits even within RSR and though I dont abuse them on purpose but every so often especially when following someone closely its easy to miss the apex slightly and so run a bit wider on some corners. These wont register as cuts using ingame cut, PLP app or RSR but in many cases it seems that it should be.

I still dont get the op here and have never ran on this server so not sure how strict it is. The apex is considered the mid point of the corner or clipping point. The track is deined by boundary so using the apex legally means while staying on the track. Plus as an admin your going to miss lots as you can only really view one car at a time.

The ingame slowdown penalty I and many others find pretty silly. It doesnt actually stop cheats and causes chaos when people re enter the track at very slow speeds.

On my server I will at times setup Monza or Imola and just watch everyone take the trouble chicanes. If somoene clearly does a blatant full throttle cheat cut at monza 1st and 2nd chicanes or final chicane at imola I will straight ban them. No need for warnings ots a cheat act and any honest driver will never do it. So guys that try and get away with it will likely cheat any time they think they arent being watched.

If someone makes a mistake and doesnt do it every lap or gains huge a advantage I will just give them a warning. But the big blatant cuts such as this video below are far from an accident. People doing this wont last long on my servers or any that have an admin watching I would think.



Any honest driver wont even consider doing this and if the cheats know that doing this once is enough for a permenant ban they may consider not cheating.

I know most of us hate cheaters, but it's a lot different in this game, because, well, the game itself is not punishing.
You banned me, because I took a spillover at Monza, on the WARM UP LAP of a qualifier, and because I decided, "Hey, I'm about to cut this guy off because I'm on the inside track, I should just take the spillover because this guy just started his hotlap. I also just retuned my gears."
Then the next thing I know, BAM, banned.
And if you can't handle that, I don't ever wanna play on your servers,
keep administratin'
But I would accept being unbanned because of this.

 

Nice story but why has it changed?

Explain how cutting the chicane to test the gears is a valid reason and how its the same story as your second one, being on an outlap and so on the inside you dont want to effect someones hotlap so youd cut flat in front of them. Maybe you want a 3rd revision of this story.

If you dont have chat its not my issue, if you join a server that clearly says drive fair or be banned and you do that then come up with 2 separate lame excuses when I saw exactly what you did and that was the reason for your instant ban. This is the same with anyone else I have seen doing this so your not special, there are plenty of cheats and idiots around that I dont want on my servers that have done exactly the same thing and got the same result for their amazing bit of cutting.
