1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Gtx 1080 TI and VR performance

Nobody can doubt the difference visually between ASW and 90 fps normal in VR. What's also true, is that VR has latency, regardless of asw setting.
The question is if the physics suffer or not, and if there is a difference in same depending on asw setting.

And the way I read it the 'world' displayed in the 2nd/interpreted frame is in the same place/state but what can be/is changed is the angle for the head positioning and movement

  3. The physics at the wheel will be the same, but you'll have to compensate for the latency. If ASW activates you'll have fresh ffb but the frame you'll see can be over 44ms "old"... and possibly a mathematical approximation...

It's the reason most TVs have a Game mode that disables all processing to reduce latency...

I´m getting the feeling we are not talking about the same thing.

    Best,

  5. Any processing done after the game renders the frame and it shows on the display increases latency.

TV game mode reduces latency by disabling image processing on the TV.
Any extra processing done by the 3d goggles will add latency and if possible should be avoided or disabled...

I hope it's better worded now.

btw - slightly offtopic but anyway to close up the issue - this usb overload thing is confirmed by me. After i moved a buck of periphery (he sq shifter+buttonbox+he pedals) to pci usb card - so basically my mb devices are now only cv1, af and mouse+kb - then damn! - the ffb is so tight now, i had even to reduce it:D @Dean - you are a fount of sim-wisdom:D

    Hiya

no tests not really had time to be honest , I use to fiddle with stuff to much now I just try to enjoy the actual sim(s)

I will say though that the 1080 ti is the iceing on the cake, seamless fluid smooth VR at decently high graphic settings
( I do have no to only x2 AA multisample only set in the titles I use)

I'll not need to upgrade until the next gen VR headsets assuming they'll be a lot lot more demanding that is ( 4k screen res)

very happy, I did stress test last night with about 20 AI cars on Nords & some frame rate drops but seamless fluid viewing maintained
    eg no stutter,
-any title any hardware this will happen as CPU's reach their limits under these conditions ,
( VR 89/90 fps falling to worse case 45fps for a few moments)

PS the 1080 was great , 1080 ti ultimately seamless for todays headsets

So you see a big improvement from 1080 to 1080 ti. Exactly what I don't want to know. I am not thanking you... Now I am not sure to be able to wait for Volta :)

    Not massive

But now seems like decent headroom

+1.3 oculus update earlier which seems to be getting greater gpu utilisation
(Think the case regardless of gpu model)

Glad I switched but it didn't cost me much as I sold on eBay quickly on announcement then brought the ti on my business so I get the vat tax back

I'll not upgrade now until next gen vr headset (if I need to ) do have no care what gets released cpu or gpu wise prior

As a guesstimate the ti is giving me approx 15 to 20% extra performance above the 1080 non ti version

    Based on settings etc
    I use vr 100%

We are still far to be able to run AC with high world detail, high shadow quality, post process and supersampling above 1.4...
Come on nVidia, with need at least twice the power of the 1080Ti :)

I'm running the highest settings of environment and shadows.. With 1.5ppd, PP effects on (medium) and AAX4 at 90fps.. This is only since openVR and the reinstall.. only thing I can't do is reflections with frequency.. in order to do that I have to drop super sampling to 1.3

don't use supersample it's a total waste of resource & does very little

It changes everything, it brings detail on cars, dashboard. Without, it is too blury.

Without asynchronous reprojection/time warp reprojection ??? I am not able to have PPD above 1.0 on the event with a lot of supercars on highlands. And then I have to reduce detail, shadow quality...

Yes. My default test is the 15 bmw 235 racing AI cars on Imola.. The first turn is a cpu and gpu hog if you are in the back (which I am for testing). Mugello is another one but the turn that bogs me down is 2/3's into the track (so no fun for testing). But yes, since openVR and a reinstall I am getting 1.5 supersampling, 4XAA, PP filters on normal (depth of field is off, fast AA is off, heat shimmer is off and I turn auto exposure off in my ini), reflections normal (no frequency), max environment, very high shadow (the max).

I test with gpu tweak logging and of course I use the in game fps app. If I can get through a lap at imola with that set of variables and no blips in fps I am generally good for anything.. every blue moon if I end up off track and hit a wall I might see a blip..

And totally agree, about PPD/supersampling.. people who say it makes no difference are having some sort of optics problem. Wether it be the head unit not sitting right, inner ocular distance incorrect, or simply poor eye sight.. But the difference is very noticeable both far and near.. If one can't see the difference of the numbers on the tachometer with 1.5 and 1.0 PPD they are doing something incorrectly. I'm done trying to convince those folks.
