1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Gtx 1080 TI and VR performance

Received my Asus ROG Strix 1080 Ti OC. Honestly it performs exactly as my 1080. Still losing frame at the exact same places and in similar conditions.

For AC it is a pure waste of money. But in other game I can see a decent improvement.

So I had a 1080 and then upgraded to a titanX which I over clock to 2048mhz. I noticed a pretty big jump. Basically the difference of running super sampling from 1.3 to 1.8

I no longer run that much super sampling. But these are my latest setting as I've upped my over clocking on both CPU and GPU

TitanX OT 2040mhz and vram by +275mhz
    6965x i7 OT to 4.3ghz (set cores to 10 in assetto.ini)
    3400 ram (64gigs)
    Running on a decent SSD

    1.5 supersampling
    4xAA
PostProcessing on with "normal" with god rays on but no motion blur or heat shimmering
    Mirror reflection high
    Reflections ultra freq and normal

I test this on imola with a full field of BMW 325 race cars, as I find them to be seriously tough on GPU/CPU - far more than any other kuno's cars. The first chicane at Imola is a stutter test spot for me.

@detoit could you please test a 60 grid field on nords enduro or enduro cup with your settings?:) the mod for 60 opponents for nords is on racedepartment

Nah, 1.7-1.8 is the max for current VR without wasting gpu.

  5. does the ppd thing in the oculus file make any difference for the Vive when using the OPENVR rendering? Or is it just the supersampling in the in game vr app?

I use the special event on Highlands track where you drive a Pagani against other super cars.

With supersampling at 1.3, world detail high (not maxed), shadow high(not maxed), same post process settings than yours, no AA, reflections quality low with ultra refresh rate, no high quality mirror, I can't reach 90fps at all.

Do you know the tri count of the mod cars vs kunos originals? What about LOD's for the mod cars? they got them? they any good?

it happens with kunos cars too, just not as bad as with mods, i was wrong, im suspecting it may be an ai issue and cpu bottleneck

I'll give it a try tonight. I am running max environment/shadows.

Are you on a vive or oculus?

    I use a Vive, Asus Z170-Pro, i7 6700k @4.4GHz and an Asus ROG Strix 1080 Ti OC

Maybe I use the worst scenario for my test but I love this special event :)

could you please tell me which one setting i should adjust? i have 6 physical cores, so technically i could bump to 12? USE_TIMER_PROCESS=1=Always on?

  12. detoit

    detoit Racer

Why 12? Are you confusing threads and cores?

Regardless, I've assumed cores as that's how it's labeled. I technically have 20 threads and 10 cores, so I hope I wasn't mistaken.

I'm not at home so I can't show you the exact line in the assetto.ini but I don't think the below is correct.

Yeah just ran that.. I never had a drop in fps with my settings.. in fact I am still convinced the racing 325's are more gpu/cpu intensive set of variables..

I ran it twice (the two lap race around highlands).. that one simply isn't taxing my system.. I do get about 50% CPU in the first few turns.. but never dropped below 90fps

1.5SS 4Xaa, lutra shadows, max envir, PP on normal with no motion blur/heat, mirror reflections on high, reflection quality medium, reflection frequency ultra

nope you were right it's threads NOT cores.. 12 for you would be correct -

Without aysnchronous reprojection ??? How can I have such a different behavior with almost the same gpu than your...
Thank you very much for testing it by the way, I will investigate why I don't have decent performance.

You have been running ultra refresh on the reflections?

For me that would be the absolute biggest FPS killer out there, even on 2D the reflection frequency was suicide.

Yes I use reflection low quality ultra refresh rate. It adds so much. I agree it is very demanding.
I think Nathan is using asynchronous reprojection which removes the miss frames from AC performance monitoring app. I use the SteamVR built in lost frame warning displayed within the headset.

These are my settings - also using a vive btw... This did require a full reinstall post the openvr patch.. deleting files did not work for me (as far as improving fps). If I dip even for a brief moment the graph blips in the acr app for me but I can tell when all the cars go into 45fps.. it's fairly abrupt and awful.. Still say a much better test bed is turn 1 at imola with 18+ 325i R's ... it gets even worse if you put it at sunset..

Thank you very much for taking time to share your settings. I will try to remove and reinstall AC then. I would love to play with your settings (it was a little bit the objective when I ordered my 1080Ti). I am really happy to know that PPD at 1.5 with reflection on and Post Process is possible.
