1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Did you lower the opponent strength to the minimum?

    There are some career events that I can do with higher settings, but for some I reduce it to a level where it's still challenging but also fun.

    I'm on 75% lol. Main problem is it takes too much learning simply not to spin out.

    My controller was quite broken though. I got a PS4 recently and found the controller to be much better than what I had been using. It probably can help me with XBOW with more practice.

    I am the OP

    I did get there in the end. :)

    I half cheat, half take it seriously.

    I take the car round the track for a couple of laps in hotlap to get the pressures. I then apply the pressures before the race. I also check the fuel and reduce it. Any possible edge over the AI right?
    On race day, I keep restarting until I have got into a good position by the first corner.

    I then try not to panic. You only need to come second or third!

    Believe it or not, the tiers get easier as you go up them!

    My congratulations, wish I had that resolve to do this ...

    I'm usually minutes behind, because I spin out every lap...

    Hmmm

    Have you lowered the car as much as possible? Have you tweaked the tire pressures? Have you hotlapped a good few times to get a feel for the car and the stage? Once you have hotlapped a good few times you can model fuel reduction.

    All these things give you an edge over the AI

    Setup:

    tires;
    28psi front
    26psi rear

    Fuel;
    6L

    Alignment
    camber;
    -1.3 front
    -0.8 rear
    toe;
    5 front
    23 rear

    dampers
    bump;
    4 front
    2 rear
    rebound;
    6 front
    5 rear

    generic;
    100% brake power (this could be reduced to make the brakes less likely to lock)

    suspension;
    11 height front and rear

    Hope this can help. I also recommend trying to do the special event where you have to drift the xbow. If you do that first, you get a good idea of how this car slides around on the track which comes in handy because on cold tires like at the beginning of these novice races, it likes to slide. You have to respect the throttle and the brake pedals, don't treat them like on/off switch's.

    Once you manage to get past that stage and get to race the xbow against the Lotuses you'll see why the xbow was so hard to drive. It's a rocket compared to the Lotus!
