1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

improve immersion

Totally agree, no idea how some people like those fake shaking effects, forced head movements when turning, forced looking at your own visor/helmet inside, that you newer see/notice in real life.

Unless you're someone who was unfortunately born with their eyes fixed in a forward staring position in their head, then any kind of representation of "head movement" will not look right on a monitor. Our eyes are fantastic at smoothing out bumps (look at a word and shake your head around a bit), but that doesn't work if the shaking is occurring on a screen in front of us. Think of the difference if the image on the screen is shaking and you're still trying to look at the same word.

The real head motion mod does this. You can argue as much as you want, it will not be more right, overall its simply a matter of preference.
I would never go back to the eyes-nailed-on-the-seat-cam.

Racing karts on street courses is one of the most brutal things you can do, the imperfections in the roads are so vicious and unforgiving you can imagine it unless you've done it.
WHILE it does look exactly like that through a camera it doesn't look like this at all through your eyes. Your brain filters this out completely, but it does feel like your body and brain was thrown around in a washing machine haha.
So no this isn't realistic in any way and not immersive anyway, just marketing and uneducated assumptions. This is the same with helmet cams, if anyone has ever put on any sort of full face helmet they will notice that the sides of the opening are only visible when looking completely left or right with your eyes, and the top and bottom of the helmet is barely noticeable unless you look at it. If you didn't know, your nose takes up a huge amount of room in your vision but your brain chooses to ignore it, same happens with a helmet.

    Kristaps and Nahkamarakatti like this.

The nose thing applies more generally too, we have binocular vision with eyes spaced ~7cm apart, if you're driving a car then you filter out the A pillar by only looking with whichever eye can see past it - basically if you're focusing on something reasonably far away, the pillars appear 7cm narrower than they actually are. So even the fairly chunky pillars in modern cars don't look all that large, and on older cars there's nothing obstructing your view at all.

The only real fix is proper 3d as in a 3d display or Oculus Rift, until then there's no point 'simulating' things that our eyes just compensate for by ignoring in the real world. Once we have OR, maybe stick a helmet on the view and it'll look something like it would in reality.

    Heres a video from a forum-user.
I dont use the steering-look/jaw, but this filters the aweful shaking when you drive above anything not smooth. You can adjust, like anything between camera locked to car and locked to horizon. People prefer different settings.
I set the filtering for rolling and pitches near the maximum.

Like when I sit in a car or driving mountanbike, my eyes see straight where I want too while goin over a bump, instead of the focus getting influenced where the car points (so a few degrees up and down). Only big bumps let the world shake, which I experience on my bicycle (that doesnt go that fast but drives over far bigger/harder bumps, my suspension + my body + my eyes/brain compensate for).

Its immersive, realistic and my eyes dont start to ache after long times, cause the vibrating/shaking world and my view doesnt get irritated.

I set the G-forces, relativly low, while you can set them high if you need more action, while that can mess up your coordination. Some say the same if the car isnt fixed on the car, but after a while you get used to it.

It felt pretty ****ty before, with the camera locked to the car, especially without g-forces, the locked to horizon option wasnt quite right, but with this mod its a total other experience.
    Better and less stressful.

This should definitly be implemented, like in other games.
