1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Just tried AC in VR

If Index could run wireless I'd go and buy one immediately. Wired would mean having a 15 - 20 m cable to the PC and I'm not sure that is possible.

Sorry for reviving this thread after a year, but I just tried AC in VR. :)

It was mostly awesome I have to say. I borrowed an Oculus Rift CV1 from a friend. I felt "at home" almost immediately, it felt really intuitive. I did mostly open wheel racing.

That said though there were two things that made me not feel completely immersed: Resolution and FOV.
Resolution isn't really a big deal as there are HMDs out there with much better resolution than the CV1. I'm especially excited by the new G2.
The biggest hurdle for me though was the field of view and what I'll just call the "goggle effect". I just could not feel completely "inside" the 3D world. The best way I can describe it is "looking through goggles into a 3D world." I was just not completely "there". I'm a bit bummed that this was bothering me but...what can you do.

So I guess I'll just have to wait until big FOV becomes a bigger priority (if that ever happens, who knows). The Pimax is already an alternative of course, but it has other issues (I'm told) that makes me hesitant to buy them. It would also be interesting to compare the FOV of the Index with that on the CV1, but I'm not keen to pay $1K for the privilege.

When I upgraded from CV1 to Rift S I felt more immersed in that regard. It has a better FOV but it dropped a bit if you use regular glasses inside the device because your eyes are some millimeters further away from the lenses.

  6. I have the Index that has the bigger FOV, I think the bigger FOV is a real asset in VR gaming especially sim racing, given the choice between more FOV and more resolution I would take more FOV:)
