New graphics engine

Can someone please do me a favour and upload the default Color curves...weather1 HDR, lighting ect as mine are all modded ones and I lost the default ones. Must have deleted them from my pc.

 

you know you can use page up and page down buttons on your keyboard to control the bloomyness as long as post processing is enabled

edit: and shift or ctrl with - or + for saturation in game

 

Go to steam -> library->my games->Assetto Corsa->Right click-> Properties-> Verify Local data

 

What does that actually do? I take it that it wont mess with any of the mods or anything?
Does it just replace those files with the original ones or something as at the moment I have the modded versions of those files in the folder.

 

Along with the god rays clouds passing by and blocking the sun would be cool!!

yeah they have nice gfx but we need them here hehe, pcars seem a little more complete in the gfx department, and have a nice sky system, kunos has great gfx too just need to put all the missing pieces together hopefully they already thought about those little details if not thats what we're here for

 

After the SLS car update the filters are dull and grey. So here are my Filter set.

Pardon me for adding a comment without ready the full thread so, I've just discovered it. I have PP set on 1 ultra details and it looks damn fine to me. I also have sweetfx overlay that just sharpens it up a bit. Is there a way to make it look even better? Can somebody point me quickly to an answer? I know it's all personal tastes etc etc but some of the screenshots I have seen just look a bit more awesome than mine. By the way I favour the time set at 15.30 with a time advance setting of 11x. This gives great impression of moving clouds and a dusk is rolling in impression after a 12 lap race. The brake lights really give off an awesome realistic glow towards race end.

 

What's your idea of "look even better" post a screenshot if you can, and a comparison of something that looks better. Chances are SweetFX tweaking can get it looking how you want.

 

What I mean by 'look even better' is the quest for photo realism I suppose. On certain tracks and times it does look too graphics not real and on others almost perfect and not graphics. I know what I mean if nobody else does. I'm only talking Kunos official tracks, not converts or scratch built as I don't expect them to look quite the same yet, however the scratch built donnington has an awesome tarmac texture better than some official tracks.

 

Post the better Screnshot you have...then we will figure out if we can help

 

Appreciate that , I'm not on my pc at the moment and commenting from my phone. In my opinion my game looks and plays mint but something is missing. I've read through the complete thread now and grabbed others .ini files to try out. Just out of interest I loaded up f1 2013 from codemasters and some of the track details and lense flair complimented with Sun rays are just wow!!!! Particularly Abu Dhabi late afternoon, Assetto needs these effects to bring it closer to project cars. PC is the looker right now, AC is the feelers. Combined it would be the ultimate experience on the PC. I'm glad AC is moddable as I've heard PC is closed code as it is online with PS4 one Xone.

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to achieve this kind of look to the game tweaking the PP settings?




What I'm saying is, look at the soft glare you get from things, like the sky or bright areas. It sort of blends into surrounding areas in a realistic way. You do get a similar effect from the sun in AC, but I wonder if the effect can be "expanded" to include other bright areas.

People should learn the difference between photorealism and cinema images

 

For instance this photo is realistic but not graphically appealing because what we want is cinema-like images, not realism

 

which game is the first image?
Btw tweaking pp set with higher contrast etc you can obtain a similar effect but limited to a certain time of the day only and btw is not photo realistic because the contrast is too much and dark eats up a lot of details....

 

Those pictures are from Driveclub. It is not the only game where the effect is present but the first racing game that came to mind.

 

ac is good too imho...we need better trees and more track detail, maybe a better optimization(always needed).... but global illumination is very very good
