New graphics engine

Yeah AC looks already pretty good, but for the same reason it's fun to imagine how much better it would look with some extra eye candy.

 

Only thing I could imagine is how much more my computer has to cry with that XD

Hey, I've just fired up AC after leaving it rest for about 3 months. I immediately noticed that the graphics changed quite a bit. The colours are less intense, and the overall feeling is better.

Can anyone explain what happened?

Without sounding like an ***. Read back through the change logs in the announcement section. There has been lots of updates and even more to come with regards to graphics and sounds.

 

I think I've got it looking pretty photo real but there is always room for improvement. Any suggestions? of thoughts about image.

 

Try my last files and tell me if you like...it's the best I can reach without sweetfx...

 

Thank you very much, I will try them tomorrow. I use the sweetfx sharpness only overlay, maybe you should give it a try with your settings? Combination of the two could be the answer. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks again.

 

Is it working with amd card? I remember that only nvidia user can use sweetfx

sure u can't use the nvidia inspector profile, which is also a big impact to performance, but i also run the package without it. the extra sharpness and details without a noticable frame rate drop is it worth, got 2 very old comparision screenshots:

I use the last ppset of andrea_gi, only I changed the sepia to zero and the saturation in-game to 95%. I see it wonderfull in my TV.

By the way, personally I´m not friend of the over-sharpened effect of some sweetFX configurations.

 

Yeah me neither. It sometimes looks like a photorealistic picture painted on fine sand.
Its sometimes irrating , too how low the saturation on some pictures is when the sun is shining, while it looks more fitting for overcast/no sunshine. Now in summer colours are usually really vibrant.
And the colours/lightning inflictim them often look unnatural.
Sometimes I dont understand how they got to that looks and wonder if people dont go outside.

For me the visuals haven't improved much since the post processing change. The one (and only) benefit that I can see is that the screen no longer goes dark when you look backwards. On most of the PP modes there is far too much contrast and personally I can't see any "bloom" effects working any more.

Also, can they not bring back that post processing app where you could change the gain, gamma, HDR, bloom etc?

Also on the AA, it only seems to apply on tracks and not the cars?

 

@andrea_gi, after installing your files, how do I need to put the quality in the game settings for post-processing, and what about the saturation? Or is it all automatically set by the files you made?

 

I set all on ultra and saturation to 88%

 

Anybody sees DOF and Motion Blur aplied in-game?

I only see them on replay mode.
