1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

The release of today extends the functionality of the Spotter with additional information about the direct opponents and the calculations of the distances between the vehicles on the track have been completely revised.

    Other improvements:

    1. The strategy calculations in the "Race Center" now automatically incorporate the current weather in the simulation during a running race.
    2. Thanks to some great work by Chris Matthews, the list of tire compounds in Automobilista 2 is now pretty much complete.
    3. And there is a new preset that can be used to change the behavior of the Push-to-Talk button so that it does not have to be kept pressed while speaking.

Outlook: According to a voting on our Discord, the next step is to build a cloud-enabled database in which the telemetry data can be stored so that all members of a team have easy access to it.

Although I'm currently working intensively on the cloud-based telemetry database for teams, there are still a few small improvements today. Chris Matthews has completed the list of tire compounds for Automobilista 2, all cars should now be covered. And there are again a couple of new tactical hints by the Spotter.

Still working intensively on the cloud-based telemetry database for teams, but we have cute little functionality for voice sound post processing today. You can configure now all parameters of the sound processing pipeline, thereby creating any radio sound you like, from a crystal clear sound of a digital radio up to the noisy, crackling sound of an old telephone line.

Beside that, this release comes with a complete list of tyre compound meta data for all cars of RaceRoom Racing Experience thanks to Chris Matthews and we have finally all cars from Assetto Corsa Competizione covered for the setup analyzer and creation tool.

Today there is another release with many bug fixes and minor improvements before the new Team Server will be released next week. The biggest change for today is the ability to choose different methods for calculating gaps and deltas for the Race Spotter.

The 4.4.0.0 release brings a long awaited feature for teams. With the help of the new Team Server it is now possible to save the telemetry data of all drivers in a central database. This data is then available to everyone, e.g. in the Strategy Workbench, to precisely calculate strategies for the entire team, or the tire pressures for a team member can be looked up in the database during an unplanned pit stop.

    Session Database 14.jpg

And we have a first version of a Spanish translation thanks to our community member Jose Krilin. Although this is not yet complete, it will be further expanded with the next releases. The initial version already provides a comprehensive translation of the user interface and work is currently underway on the Spanish voice output and recognition.

just wanted to give you some feedback.
I wanted to try this, especially for the setup advisor and pitstop automation but also for race strategist and spotter for my upcoming single player endurance races.

Please do not take my post as offensive, I want to give you my sincere feedback based on my first impression of installing and running the setup wizard.

I started to look into the installation instructions and followed the link to the github page.
Then after I wrongly assumed the 4.4.0 was a beta or developer I downloaded the 4.3.5 but that was just a zip and the installation instructions recommend the installer version for new users. I was a bit puzzled, as on Github I'm used to stable releases not to be a *.0 version.

I wanted to check if there is a "stable" tag on the 4.4.0 version so I looked for the link to the repositories on Github but couldn't find one?
Nevertheless I downloaded the 4.4.0 version and started installation.
The Setup Wizard started and already on page 2 I stumbled upon the option "Controller & Input Devices". In the description it mentions Button Boxes and Steam Deck... I do not have any of these so I thought I don't need this...
Well, little did I know that this is vital if you want to assign any button of your wheel to Simulation Controller System (SCS). Would be nice to have that information in that little info text, too.

Those other modules like "Motion Feedback", "Tactile Feedback", "Pedal Calibration".
Would be nice to have an short text like "You only need this, if you have xyz and want to control it via SCS"
The pure description what you can do with this does not give me the information if I should install it or not. I need to know what Project SFX-1000 is about or what a Motion Rig is and if I never had one of those how should I know?

    Module: Team Server
Does it provide only benefit to real teams competing in a online race or is there any benefit for single player as well? Like before, just a small text like "This feature is only useful for teams competing in online endurance races with driver swaps.". If this is it what I understood?

    Presets & Special Configurations
Push-To-Talk-Behavior: Is this enabling an option I can activate and deactivate or does selecting this preset already define the different behavior?
Button Boxes: I thought you need to have a real button box to to able to use it. For me it would be much easier to understand if the name or in the description was a "virtual" for virtual Button Box. So no real button box is necessary to use this. Even just a wheel with some buttons on it can be enough to get use of these virtual button boxes. Mentioning "the buttons of your wheel" in the description could be helpful as well.

Muted Race Engineer, RE w/o Pitstop Control, Muted Strategist, Muted Spotter, ...
all of these options and alike (e.g. P2T behavior) confuse me a little bit when arranged in a list box instead of a label with checkbox to turn on and off. Just unusual (at least under windows) but this is maybe just me being a bit picky.

    Software: opentrack
Would find it very useful if the prerequisites for this software would be mentioned instead of the technical description "This application implements the freetrack protocol." This is technical correct, just doesn't give the average user any useful information.
Something like "If you have a head tracking device or by using AITrack (see next option) with a webcam, you can control your ingame viewing direction..."
See, I figured it out, in the end. It just took me time I'd like I didn't have to.

    Controller Configuration
do I need to set up this in first place? If I just want a button for Push2Talk and no other buttons for controlling actions in SCS?
I find this very complex and time consuming to set up and I don't even know for sure if I need this at all. But it gives me a warning if I'm really sure to not configure this.

    Simulator Configuration
What do I do here? Assigning SCS actions to previous defined buttons? If I don't want to use buttons but only voice recognition, do I need to configure anything at all here?

    ...
I'll stop here. For me it is just too much to grasp at once and the initial setup/configuration is just overwhelming.
I would have liked to have some basic options if needed at all and an "advanced" button for all those who wants to dig deep into this. Having options is really good and I appreciate the possibility but for the basic user it is just too much at once.

Now I have spent over 5 hours to get this running and I didn't get anything done not do I know if it works at all.
I have watched the YT video for initial setup in hope this could help me a bit more. Apparently this is a capture of a live stream and also here every bits'n'pieces are explained, why and what it does technically and so on and so forth. I watched over an hour and I just wanted to get started somehow... my head explodes
Is there any simple quick start guide?

Well, I do not have the time and the dedication to study this any further. I wanted to start my endurance racing tonight but I just spent more time than I had (it's almost 4am and I need to get up at 7am) and I have not accomplished anything. :(

Oh one last suggestion: If you have completed the setup wizard first time and now running it again just to change an option... you still need to click through every single page until you can click on finish. Would prefer this finish button to be enabled after it has generated it's first configuration so you can change what you need and click finish right away.

It's a really powerful software and has much to offer. I do not want to discredit it and you have put some serious work and hours into it. It's just... well... for me it's too much in one.

Hi, a lot of valuable and also valid feedback. I know that the initial setup is a PITA and I am constantly trying to make things easier without sacrifying flexibility.

I will use your feedback, especially those for some more clarifications, for further releases. And a quickstart guide is also a good idea.

One thing I need to correct though: You can use the "Jump to the End" button on any pgae in "Simulator Setup" to get to the final page, where you can generate a new configuration.

And by the way, using the download installer ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/vu3rah5vqxt6uev/Simulator Controller.exe?dl=1 ), you will always get the current release.

And, as a last note, if you still want to get everything up and running, we can make a 1:1 session on Discord. Typically need about 30 minutes for everything.

Thanks for your offer to help me on discord in a session. I may come back to you in a few days. Today I'm still recovering and have little to no interest to get into it again or even start ACC.

Today we have improvements for new users with a new quick start guide (https://github.com/SeriousOldMan/Simulator-Controller/wiki/Quick-Start-Guide), that helps creating a simple running configuration in a few minutes. For the experienced users this release includes a new monitoring tool, that shows the actual state and health of all functions, components and internal processes of Simulator Controller. And Caster And ECU Map are now supported in "Setup Advisor" when comparing setups and also when generating setup recommendations.

Outlook: According to the voting on our Discrod, the next big thing will be support for multi-class races.

Hi @TheBigO very nice addition. Read through it and I like it very much. Step by Step with the necessary points covered and enough to ensure the core is working as intended.

In the meantime I got it already working so far but it seems I struggle to be heard by the assistants while racing. When I'm not in a session I can call "Jonah, are you there?" and he will answer me, but when I'm racing he won't answer me 9/10 times. Which also leads to the issue that I cannot really tell him to initialize a pitstop or which changes he should make. I'm distracted by reassuring the settings for next pit stop in the in-lap are correct that I'm losing much time or even spin or almost crash. But that's on me to get it working right so I can be confident in what I tell him is what he does.
Maybe it is because the push2talk button I selected is also assigned within ACC as the "special shift button"?

I think I have to rethink my button mapping and deselect mostly everything (apart from gear changing) from ACC config and configure SCS to use my wheel buttons as button box to access all the functions and actions I want to use in a race. That way I can also access multiple button modes/layers to even extend the number of functions I can trigger with my limited number of buttons, is this correct?

  12. TheBigO

    TheBigO Racer

Yes, that is correct, but you have to made a good plan upfront, since the number of usable buttons on the steering wheel is really limited. You do not have a normal Button Box or a Stream Deck, right? Driving in VR?

Regarding your "recognition" problem. Drive two laps, then park the car at the said and test everything. The microphone level is very important, and, as long as the Azure voice recognition is not working at the moment, the phrasing of your commands must match exactly the grammars in most cases.

No, none of that. Just single monitor and a T300RS. I tried to have some extras (like blinker / direction indicators) on the keyboard, but when racing I'm not really good at hitting the right key...

Well.. as it turned out, my headset has a button on the left ear cup to mute the mic.
Apparently it is not really cut off, but very damped. When I talked very loud my commands could be heard, now that I have un-muted it it is way better. :D:rolleyes:

Most important addition for today are the Spanish grammars for the Race Assistants thanks to the great work of Jose Krilin. Beside that, map and caster meta data are now available for all cars in "Setup Advisor". And we have a new report, which show the performance of each driver / car lap by lap and the pace report now includes the mean value of all lap times as well as the median value.

A question to stint plan in the strategy workbench:
I'm doing single player endurance races and have three (virtual) drivers on my team. So I don't use Team Server bc. it's only me.
In the strategy workbench I can add drivers but they always are displayed as Christian Klien and I can't change or add different names.
Is this only possible when using a team server and actually having three or more different drivers connected to the team server?

PS: Does the Race Strategist support saved sessions? Not going to drive 6 hours in one go, so saving the session and continuing the next day. Is this possible? Will he advise the Race Engineer to plan the pit stops right? Will the whole system be aware that continuing a saved race does not start by lap 1?

With ACC it is unfortunately not possible, since the driver name, which is communicated in the data API is none of your virtual team members, but it is the name you have set in the settings for yourself. So, although it looks like that "John Doe" is driving, the data still tells, that it is Christian Klien. Therefore running the Team Server does not make much sense in this scenario. For strategy planning it is not important as well, simply plan a strategy with 3 stints for yourself (CK).

Regarding your second question: "Does the Race Strategist support saved ...."

That is an interesting one. When you are using the Team Server, it will, since all the state information will be saved on the server. The only drawback is, that you have to stop and save your session exactly a few seconds AFTER a pitstop. This may be also an opportunity to change the driver name in the ACC settings, so that the systems thinks, that a different driver has taken the car when you continue your saved session. To do this, you have to run a local Team Server (copy the "Team Server" folder from the Binaries directory to a neutral location on your drive, so that it is not overwritten with the next release), set up a team with 3 different driver names and run your stints with a team server connection enabled.

You can see, it might be possible, but the system was not designed for that. It will be a very unique kind of usage....

  17. AndyK70

    AndyK70 Alien

which settings are you referring to?
In ACC I've put my name and the names of my other family members and I'm using an ingame customized car with us three as drivers:
    Assetto Corsa Competizione Screenshot 2022.11.04 - 14.23.22.58.jpg

In SCS I couldn't find a setting to put my or other names in (though didn't start teamserver until now)

  18. TheBigO

    TheBigO Racer

I mean just this screen. Although you have three drivers there, the data API will ALWAYS deliver your name as the name of the current driver. Your co-drivers are just virtual. The trick might be now, that you change your master driver name prior to loading a saved game and then run the next stint as this driver. In fact I have done exactly that, while testing the initial implementation of the Team Server. It works, but it isn't a user-friendly solution. It would be so much better, if ACC would use the names of your virtual co-drivers correctly.

This week we have full support for multi-class races. The Assistants always provide information on lap times, gar and positions related to your own vehicle class and all accompanying tools such as "Race Center" and "Race Reports" also understand the conditions of a race in which different vehicle classes take part. Within reports and graphs, you can focus on one of the vehicle classes.

Please note: Unfortunately, due to the latest Windows patches, it may be necessary in some cases to carry out the update manually, as the automatic installer may abort with an error message. Support can be found in our Discord.

Today we have further improvements in data replication for teams. Vehicle setups and race strategies can now also be exchanged with each other via the central Team Server. Furthermore, it is now possible to be connected to several Team Servers at the same time to exchange data, very helpful for everyone who is active as a driver in several teams. In addition, as always, there are many small improvements (see release notes). Among other things, the time required for refueling can now be specified for the strategy simulation.

We're fast approaching our 2 year anniversary on December 6th and I'm hoping to have a really great new feature in setup development ready by then. fingers crossed.
