1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic Weekly Hotlap Challenge 195 – Insanity in Italy and trepidation at Terlamen

I gave ACC a few goes but found it very difficult to see where I was going early on & either spun or got taken out each time on the first lap. My best time was at least 6:10 & I didn’t think it was worth posting. This weeks challenge was just too difficult for me.

Well, to my enormous surprise, this one was actually a lot of fun! :eek:o_O:D
As you'd expect, I didn't even make it to the start/finish line without spinning a few times on the first try, and the first few laps were hilariously awful. But with a few semi-random setup tweaks and a bit more practice (particularly missing the worst of the damn puddles, argh!!) I actually managed to stay ahead of the pack.
I managed a high 5.29 after a while and then I was like "cool, how hard can it be to shave off a few tenths and beat Leif's time?". The answer was about 15 more failed attempts with a mistake or a puddle! ROFL...
What can I remember about the setup: lowered and softened the rear in the hope of making it more stable, TC back at 3 (weird, cos that's often iffy for me in the dry :-S), reduced the super-aggressive front toe, raised the pressures a wee bit all round (though I now realise I was still about 1 - 1.5 psi shy of the nominal 30), front and rear brake ducts at 0 to help warm the tyres. Tried a few variations on the ABS and max braking and ended up on 9 and 85% but no idea if that was optimal. Might have used 54% bias, but I can't remember now. Weirdly, the safe and wet default setups have different spring rates on the front two corners. I made them equal but I can't remember which rate I chose now :D

No real feel, so it is pure guesswork as to whether my tyres are spinning or sliding.
I've now completed this quite a few times and this is the best time, but all the efforts were very similar, I can't get the car to go faster!
Very interested by @Neilski 's set up... could have done with that a bit earlier.... :D:D

Sorry - will try to be a bit earlier next time :D (I hadn't been entirely liking the sound of this one though ;))
Had a good go at improving my AC time and have just given up. I went back to softs in the hope of them being the better compromise but am now way slower than yesterday and unable to get within a second (!) of my best time on the supers o_O

Unfortunately to many Zolder will always be associated with the loss of Gilles Villeneuve.

    That's it for WHC195.

This week has been an eye-popping blast!
Mugello in an F1 car goes down as one of my favourites. Whoooosh!

Congratulations to @F1415182235 , he wins this week!
He's been on it from the off. He promised us a sub 80 second lap and delivered. And posted the vid. Quality!
@Neilski comes in P2 and only about 3/10ths off. That is also some lap! Neilski is always very quick, but well done there!
@Peggy11 takes P3 . He surprised himself this week, the "you-can-do-it-if-you-try" mantra has worked! A three second improvement is a whopping jump and hoists him to third step on the podium. Result!
Meanwhile (I beat @Pretend racer everybody,:D) it's great to see @Emmanuel Tubbiolo back and fantastic lap @lemans86400 , using the controller!

A wet race a Zolder proved to be a divisive challenge.:D
There has been far more use of the restart button this week, than full throttle.
Congratulations to all of those who overcame the trepidation!
    Finishing is winning.
    Everyone is a winner.

But the fastest is @Neilski ! A new winner in WHC ACC!
Late on Sunday, he realises this challenge is great fun and, out of the mist, flies past @LeiF and wins the race. He takes the top step on the podium! No one saw that coming, great work! Great week all round @Neilski!
Second place @LeiF was the first man to win the race, is not afraid of a bit of water and is consistently good. Denied the win this week, he has bigger races and frightening amounts of tyre preservation on his mind! One set for two hours???! Good luck dude!:)
@mike reynolds takes third place. He was the early pace setter this week, (admin's confidence booster!) and obviously mastered the tricky conditions. Nice one Mike!
Honourable mention to @moodyryder for his excellent race, just 19 secs of the winner.

Thanks to everyone for contributing this week, it's been a blast, then a shower.
Onto @Pretend racer 's toffee chewing hotlaps in the surprisingly excellent Macan.

I'm away for some real life Highland tracks next week, so you are in @moodyryder 's capable hands for WHC 197. And of course @Neilski will probably be choosing the ACC Challenge. Och aye!:)
