1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Whos fault is it?

It is the FIA's fault for turning the series with the fastest cars on a roadcourse into such boring events that this is all we have to talk about in F1.

And this one moment made the race the most exciting in some time. Thank goodness for the fast forward button on DVRs.

Bernie has nothing to do with anything. :/

I agree that driving people off-track has become a really big problem the past few years, though. It's unfair, it is dangerous and it robs us of some good battling. Yet drivers were getting away with it every single time, so it started getting used more and more.
I dont think Nico's penalty had anything to do with any favoritism, I find that fairly ridiculous, but I *do* think that it was only given because it was the most blantant and obviously deliberate example yet. Which is sad, because it shouldn't take such an extreme example for the stewards to get involved and clamp down on it.

Hopefully there will be some consistency with this going forward, but consistency and stewards generally dont belong in the same sentence, so I'm not expecting much.

I'm always surprised at how many fans do not know the basic rules of engagement when there are incidents like this.

Forgive me please for this opinion, but I have to say this track is not on par with virtually any other track. There's no flow. Its a sprint to the corner, slam on the brakes, gear down, sprint to the next corner, etc... It reminds me trying to navigate a WalMart shopping center parking lot when trying to find a way out. Any wreck at this track is excusable and can be readily chalked up to frustrations being taken out (imo ;)). I guess you could say its my least favorite track in AC and I felt a sudden level of frustration that forced me to comment...so hopefully that's excusable too. :)

A combo of rules and track design have contributed to this.

If you make a rule that says you should give a competitor a cars width, then yes they will try to hang on around the outside and expect the space. Then add to that, the stupid amount of runoff, which means you can pull stunts like that and not end up with both cars in a gravel trap.

Look at Barca this year, Nico squeezed Lewis off on a straight, so he has a bit of a history with this. Also there is absolutely no skill in those moves, a 3 year old could pull it off.

I fully agree run them out of track on the exit, it's the been the norm since I started watching racing 30+ years ago.

Also just to make clear, I am not a fan of Lewis (I've stated that before on this forum).

    Anyway that's my 2 cents.

I think it's too easy to simply blame it on Rosberg.

They can both see eachother clearly, Hamilton is looking into the corner (I hope) so he will be looking directly at Rosberg's car, yet he turns in anyway. Wether Rosberg made the attempt to turn in or not, Hamilton DID turn into him, causing a collision that could've been avoided.

Ultimately if one has to be fully blamed I'd say Rosberg as well, but Hamilton isn't without fault entirely and being a world champion I'd sort of expected him to show better judgement.

Tbh, Rosberg had enough time to try to turn in, even if his brakes were faulty.
Hamilton had to turn in since there was no road left for him to go (and I'm a massive hamilton hater, I can tell you that).
It's the same like at the German GP vs Verstappen. Rosberg just divebombs verstappen & forces him off the track. Seriously, even I can pass people that way. It's just stupid and rosberg got what he deserved in both races.

I just can say, that I am glad something entertaining is going on there. I also very much liked first half of Silverstone race, shame they had safety car for so many laps at the begining, because it was too wet, were they all on slicks by then ? Lol I thought they will cancel the race.

In this case I'm supporting Hamilton, Rosberg is a bit extreme when defending.

I agree with you that Rosberg deserved the punishments he got, he was at fault here. But what I'm trying to say is, there's more than enough tarmac on the run-off that Hamilton could've avoided a collision if he had wanted to and the stewards would've no doubt dealt with it. If Rosberg really had any brake issues, he would've overtaken him in 2-3 corners actually. But he turned in anyway, causing a collision he could've avoided. I'm not saying he's at fault, but he's not completely blameless either. It's not that black and white (to me at least)

But other than trying to damage Ham's car then what is Rosberg doing? He brakes apparently normally, doesn't turn in, starts to turn yards after the apex, sees Ham, stops turning, hits Ham, them starts turning again...

Other than Toto's assertions there's no evidence of Rosberg having a serious brake issue. No smoke from the disks, no tyre smoke. He's not under steering after an overly fast corner entry he's just not turning the wheel lol... :D

The thing is, you don't need to look at the run-off area. You have to focus on the track and pretend the run-off area isn't there and isn't part of the track. What Rosberg did in both situations is pushing another driver off the track which isn't allowed by the rules so it's completely Rosberg's fault.

It's frustrating to see so many GT3 races online on that server, I just think it's awful. It's even OK on OW cars, but for GT cars it's impossible to race on.

When you're racing wheel to wheel, even more so in fast cars like F1, you don't have time to wait and see what the other driver has done to react afterwards. You mantain your line and expect the other driver to do the same.
Hamilton kept his line, he even went wider than he normally should. Rosberg wasn't even able to keep a reasonable line.

    It is allowed to force the other car off the track if;
    1. You are on the racing line
    2. Your car is on the limit of grip and you have no other option but going wide
Rosberg was neither in the racing line neither his car was on the limit of grip that would prevent him from turning normally. Something was on his mind. His trajectory was against wheel to whell racing where you have to give room to an opponent if possible.

First Ive heard of those odd rules. Are these rules you race by.

    1. you dont need to leave room for other cars if your on the racing line? Someone alongside on the inside your free to turn into them and drive them off the road as your always able to gonfor the apex no matter if someone else is there. If they are alongside outside you can just drive them off the road? Blind freddy needs not be aware of others on the track as he just holds the racing line and everyone else needs to avoid him seems your method.

    2. So isnt the driver meant to be responsible for remaining in control and not running others off the road. If you make an error and so force someone wide you still made the error and pretty sure are still at fault. :D

I think people that actually think no awareness or control are a valid excuse for driving others off the road should stick to hotlapping rather then wanting to race others.

If you are on the inside, side by side, at some point you gain the racing line, (and you are allowed to keep it on the exit of the turn).

Yea in your method thats when you push the other guy off the road on the outside, unless the guy on the racing line outside pushed you off on the inside first.

In this method of yours it seems both would be ok especially if the guy inside dive bombs and cant slow to hold the inside line they can push the other car off the track without issue. :D

No need to maintain control or leave any racing room. I think you would be fun to race with.

Also I think your tone is against forum rules.
