1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Totally agree here. Though lately @nurb I have noticed a marked improvement in the GT cars AI. We can go 2 deep into a corner no problem, even Schumi S. But thats only after lap 1.
I have learned to use the 1st lap as the time to get my tires properly heated before I really get after it. ;)

When will we see some true AI improvements?

Since 0.5.3 it's the same (up to 0.5.2 was a bit better without the scripted lost of control after the small collisions), it behaves like a Caterpillar and it's so frustrating.
With the 0.7.2 there were some improvements @Nurburgring but only because the AI now follows a better line, instead @Imola it still crashes on the wall near the start; Silverstone is the best track to race only because it's wider.

I really hope that KUNOS didn't gave up! o_O

They haven't, in the last update there was a post from Aristotelis saying there was lots of under the hood changes deep in the code being done so they can get ready for the changes that will be made to the AI (something along those lines) but nothing you will see yet. So it's being worked on and I'm sure lines for other tracks will be updated in the near future. AI is a dam **** hard thing to create/program as is MP!

None the less I look forward to seeing the changes soon hopefully :)

They come to a complete stop a Vallelunga around one of the tighter hairpains, it makes it an undrivable experience.

If you enable dev apps there is an AI app where you can make AI adjustments. I just looked but didnt touch as i realy dont know what does what but will see if its possible to turn a clean hotlap into an ai line. Especialy at Vallelunga where that hairpin slows them down so much.

Maybe we couod get user submitted AI paths that work better then the default ones so they can focus more on the code and we can try get the ai run better lines. I noticed there is a purple fast line and a white secondary line. At Vallelunga the white line had some odd sharp edges from looking at it I wouod have assumed that this shouod be avoided to also avoid those eratic lane changes.

From my prior experience with making better AIW lines (AI lines) on many tracks in rFactor i would say that Imola and a few other tracks also need some attention like was done for Nurburgring! :)

Yeah, AI lines need huge improvements but probably this is the easiest part for the programmers.
The hardest is how the AI reacts to the player, and at the moment it's really a mess since basically 95% of the times it doesn't react.

Exactly, there's probably not much point endlessly tweaking the lines if there are still major changes being made to the AI code, Kunos will just end up chasing their tail. I'm guessing once they've calmed down the AI blocking moves into the braking areas somewhat, sorted the low speed corner issues, stopped them just driving through slower cars and added some better behaviour when being lapped (for when we get longer races) then they can work on getting the lines finalised.

While I was disappointed with the bad behaviour of the AI when it first came out I'm actually going to miss some of the randomness and excitement of not knowing what awful thing they're going to do to you next :D. AI in other sims just seems so boring and lifeless by comparison, I hope Kunos can keep some unpredictability to their AI without it resulting in crashes or damage to the player's car.

  11. the two biggest problems I see are their super human recovery from tank slappers where a human would spin out, and their making contact and then just continuing to drive into you and push you out of the way after the contact (not making contact in the first place would be nice but it would also be nice if they stopped after the contact and didn't just plow you off the road).

Yeah, sometimes they continue to push you until they retired, probably because they blown up the engine: pathetic!!!
