1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    But is it like this in real car? Based on what real race driver said, there should be more tolerance in it.. Like few % above limiter (im guessing in ac it is set to Rev limiter at this moment)... But no tech.data to support it

    Is it easier to catch air on flugplatz now after 1.3 or is this placebo?

    Not all of the driving in AC is grip racing. Sure it'd BE odd for anyone to hit the stop in grip racing.

    It's quite common to GIVE full opposite lock if you're countersteering when drifting THOUGH.

    (p.s I've made a FEW random WORDS capitals for YOU Nick, not sure WHY you do this BUT I hope it HELPS you read it.)

    I was able to get some air time in 1.2, I don't remember which car it was (street duh) but I thought I'm about to do the Webber flip.
    Didn't feel like it's easier with MP4-12C nor with the new RUF.

    Do you have the driver seating position app open? If so, there's your answer. Orange is neck, blue is eye level.

    This is so awesome. A lot of older cars have become so much more alive, 458 on the Ring with Streets and Green track is just godlike.

    I now catch some flight time at Flugplatz with most cars after the update, when not on the brakes when hitting the gradient change. Almost had a full lift off with a GT3 once.

    To the whole Kunos team involved these days, you have done an amazing job with this one, thank you a lot for it!

    I think I noticed that too, at least with the Corvette C7.R. With 1.2 I'd go full throttle until after the hill with almost no air and then brake. Now, with the same settings, I've got to brake a little before the top of the hill or otherwise I'll get some massive air!

    Now when I think about it after your post Marco I think you might be right about it, because of the updated aero stall in GT2/3. I haven't driven any GT car @ NS after the update, so maybe that's why I don't feel the difference.

    So after thorough testing of 1.3 and the V5 tyre model I have some criticism...I will present it like I learned in school in rhetoric lesson as “criticism sandwich”:

    - I like Stefano’s beard.
    - V5 does obviously have some top speed misalignment going on, as many have pointed out (e. g. severe speed delta 1.3 vs. 1.2 at the end of Kemmel in GT cars). This should be adressed.
    - I love the fact that it still says “löschen” when “clear” is meant in the weather options (German “löschen” = “to clear” but “klar” is clear for weather) :-D I love that because it always reminds me of when “Super Soccer” on the SNES announced “Scheissen” instead of “Schiessen” when the game was decided via 11m-goal kicks :p
    - The grip levels now available in AC are not up to date, anymore with V5. 100 % grip on a hot day was insanely grippy before but now it will prevent you from doing number 11s in a GT car on soft slicks without TC, with manual clutch. That feels wrong and will get people sceptical regarding ACs realism...think word-to-mouth here, I saw quite a few smartasses last night on a 100%, 30° server complaining about arcade physics. If it was my game I’d just go and drop the 100% setting (at optimum grip temperature and clear weather) to what is now, say, 96%.
    After that server I went to ALOOG 5, which was also on 100 % but the temperature was lower and driving felt very natural, again...is there something else that can affect MP grip?
    - The on-the-edge handling is sublime, my 1st impressions have been confirmed. @Christopher Low stated also that he was getting “passenger situations” in 1.2 at times and I completely agree. E. g. if you didn’t get entry speeds, braking and turn-in exactly right in LaSource, Bus Stop or right-hand downhill sweeper at Zandvoort your car became a girlfriend that just asked you if she was fat – every possible input is wrong :-D
    Now these turns are still tricky to get fast but they don’t try to kill you, I believe it’s very, very realistic (given proper grip settings).
    - The tyre squeal: At first I found it good to be able to set the threshold. Now I don’t like it anymore – this is expert stuff and you, Kunos, should decide what levels are realistic here. I’m sure you are aware of how much it influences driving style...I was driving way, way too slow with 100% on slicks and found 150 to work quite well. Also, it’s now one level for all tyre types, right? So a slick starts squealing at the same slip rate as a road tyre? If so, not realistic, I would say. I really would like you to set the levels for everyone.
    - Aris is a charming small-talker.

    This is high-level criticism, some tweaks for an already outstanding product presented by me with the best of intentions.

    Cheers
    Chris

    My god playing this more and more and it feels so good! Such a great physics update! Most of the cars that felt "meh" now are awesome! I love the feel of the oversteer in the corners, the way you control the car with the throttle, much more profound than in the past. I can't point my finger on it, but every single car I've driven now feels like I am more in control. The tail happiness is still there, but it's more predictable, more controllable in the right way. The cars that were just weird when losing grip now feel like the real thing! I am amazed, I know I sound like a fanboy but man does Kunos deliver with each update.

    Just set 40 (!) degrees in game settings and forget about it. You'll get as many degrees of rotation as you set in your steering wheel driver.

    I'm enjoying the new FFB very much; I can detect the back losing grip so much better and the overall feel and detail is great - Thank you Stefano! The tire temp enhancements feel good and the new cars are all quite interesting additions to AC IMO. I like the new "Under-steer Enhancement" and the tire-squeal onset features too, great stuff IMO.

    Overall, I think that if we follow Aris's advice about re-setting our expectations a bit, we'll now appreciate these changes a whole lot more and find that we simply enjoy playing AC more than ever.

    The only things that really detracts from my experience with the new cars is some of the sounds. While there are some significant improvements regarding the more integrated feel of many of the sounds (not just pasted on top - like the older backfire effects), there are also some sounds that totally break immersion (GT40 internals being the most obvious). The GT40 internals don't sound right at all until the revs reach a very high level where they begin to be somewhat believable IMO. The low-end and mid-range are dominated by what may be intended as intake sound but, even at that - just doesn't work well. If it is intake noise, it should also be very accelerator dependent.

    I also agree that Fmod is very capable and should have more emphasis on internal vs. external samples and effects. IMO, the Dirt Rally team have achieved fantastic results (although, using a different engine). None the less, if one pays attention to the various sounds, how seamlessly they blend and work in concert together, DR serves as an excellent target to aim for. Also, note the difference in approach (intake) and departure (exhaust) sounds as the car passes - really well done. Also, they have interior resonance (Race prep cars) dialed in nicely.

    Again, overall - a great update to AC. Thank You Kunos!

  17. 100% gain from controller settings is a clip galore for T500.
    If you have Overall Strenght 60 from driver (which you should), 65% ingame controller settings and 100% car specific is the way to go. Even at 85% ingame, you will lose a lot of details and dynamics in fast corners.

    @tommi karsikas:

    I loved your ffb suggestions for AC 1.2.1., which were:

    Driver settings:
    - Overall Strength = 60%
    - Constant = 100%
    - Periodic = 100%
    - Spring = 0%
    - Damping = 50%
    [x] ...by the game

    In-game controller menu:
    - FFB Gain = 90%
    - Minimum Forces = 3%
    - Rest of the Values = 0 (Kerb, Road, Slip)
    - Car Setup Window:
    - FFB multiplier = 100%

    Kerbs = 70%
    Road = 45%
    Slip = 17%

    I am not sure, if I got your new suggestions right.
    I understood the following:

    Driver settings:
    - like above

    In-game controller menu:
    - FFB Gain = 65%
    - Minimum Forces = 3%
    - Rest of the Values = 0 (Kerb, Road, Slip)
    - Car Setup Window:
    - FFB multiplier = 100%

    Kerbs = 70%
    Road = 45%
    Slip = 17%

    Is that correct?

    Why BMW M4 Coupe Akrapovic have 425hp when on official Akrapovic site he states that exhaust adds a 16kW ? KS please fix this, add more power to akrapovic editon. Also i think that this two versions sounds exactly the same.
    Sorry for my english.

  20. Yes that is correct.
    I do not use kerbs nor slip (not that you shouldn't, I would just lower both some, Kerbs ~60, Slip 10), I do use Road = 50%.
    I did make a new post in Thrustmaster thread, but since the damn FFB tools aren't showing correct results, I made a mistake there with the gain 85%. It is clear that it is too high, so 65% is safer bet to avoid clipping and getting all the detail out of the forcefeedback.
