1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

V1.3 what's the buzz

Discussion in 'Chit Chat Room' started by Aristotelis, Oct 8, 2015.

  1. Yeah, this way developers would have less questions about night and rain, cmon forum admins, give the videos a chance on this place, there's so many $hitty threads. Unless @Lord Kunos is not ok with that, they definitely belong here, and the would be watched even more, 3000 lousy views have them each, with the last one having 7000.

Just a little thing, but I'm liking seeing other car's skids online. It just adds a little more ”life” to the track, which otherwise would just look the same lap after lap.

I raced with 458 last night, in a server with fixed setup with semis. I may be wrong but there is something that i don't really like about hers EDL.
I was able to power oversteer this car in 1.2.X but now , the diff acts like it's open. I see the inner rear wheel spining, the oversteer is dying and the 1% of available of Chris Harris in me is crying.

    Am i doing something wrong?

  4. Possibly. When I tried the 458 after 1.3 it was just brilliant. Couldn't stop drifting. So much easier to maintain the drift.

I could be wrong too but that's how I remember it..

  5. Sounds like you unknowingly had TCS on @liakjim

Nope, server had fixed setup, TC forced OFF (i always have electronics app ON and i can confirm this ). Ok i just suck.

  7. setting something like 3-4 seconds faster times in the 458 at imola since 1.3.3

After 1 month without my trusty PC I am finally able to enjoy 1.3 in all it's glory less the DLC for 2 more days.
I instantly fired up the good old Tourist track to see what all the buzz translates to in sim feel. I love it. Manhandling the Yellowbird around the track is pure joy even if you make the occasional mistake and she bites. Just exploring turbo settings to see the car on minimum/standard/full boost is like trying 3 different cars. I guess it is true and the cars are more lively, and its insane fun. Can't wait to try the RT12 and Akrapovic during the weekend.

Still need to sort out setups on the Yellowbird. Haven't touched toe settings yet and can't find the right camber setting but she definetly likes lots of rear camber. Would love pointers here. Like I don't understand why running realatively high neg camber in the rear is very good for a rear engined car. Seems counter intuitive when trying to brake from high speed.

The heating cycle of the tires is a beautiful experience in itself. Cars bite you in the a88 hard on cold tires just like they should and the cleaning of dirt off tires is so much more natural.

Thanks K for making AC even more epic.

  9. 1.3.4
    - Replay in x64 are now capped at 1Gb instead of 500mb
    - Fixed turbo in form gears
    - Physics multithread is now disable with less than 4 cores
    - Fixed backfire animation on Lamborghini Countach
    - acServerManager: admin password is mandatory
    - acServerManager: fixed uploader not saving surfaces.ini of multi-layout tracks
    - Fixed Lamborghini Countach S1 UI for customers who do not own DLC2
    - Fixed Alfa Romeo 4c peak slip angle value on rear street tyres.
    - Fine tuning of tyre heating model for GT2 and GT3 cars. Tyres now might need 2 laps to heat up the core temperatures. Core temperatures are now much more stable during a lap and cool down slower.
    - New power loss calculation for GT2 GT3 cars engines
    - Corrected rolling resistance calculations for GT2 and GT3 cars tyres
    - BMW M3 E30 Drift and M3 E92 drift has new tyre heat calculation following the GT2/GT3 logic. Experimental.
    - Balancing of GT3 car performances. The balance does not make all cars equal, but just brings their performances closer. Leagues can now add a small amount of ballast to equalize the cars performances even more.
    - Fixed dirt texture and headights in Ferrari 458 Italia
    - Fixed headlights indicator on BMW Z4 GT3
    - Fixed transparency issue on Ruf Yellowbird
    - Added leds to Mercedes SLS GT3
    - Fixed TrackIR support for x64
    - Added Force Feedback Controller app
    - Fixed acServer corruption of internal buffers leading to packet losses
    - Added benchmark mode
    - Realtime app now uses magenta to signal fastest lap in the session
    - New "camera facing" spectators are now controlled by the "world detail" settings. Allowing users with older machines to achieve better FPS
    - Minor AI race craft tweaks (a bit faster to change lane but bit less "punchybumpy")
    - Remapped some functions associated with numpad "+" and "-"
+/- = Change Force Feedback (disabled in replays)
Ctrl +/- = Change onboard FOV
Ctrl Shift +/- = Change saturation

  10. I've also noticed that the 458 feels it got open diff now.

50% of the time is spins the inner wheel in a turn and the other 50% feels like the diff is locked.

Maintaining drift in the 458 now is way more difficult than before 1.3.
But apart from the open diff feel, the car drives/feels better and more complete now.

  11. The Mclaren should be like that, not the Ferrari, wtf....

Is this hyperthreading thing (where more cpu cores are used) already implemented or will it come in the future?

With 1.3.x we got 64 bit version but as Lord Kunos already said this has no impact on performance. Therefore my hope for future performance improvements (hyperthreading?)...

At the moment I have performance problems with PP-effects ON. So can I expect improvement in the future?

There's multi threaded physics since 1.3. But not multi threaded graphics. I think they are a thing too, just like physics, but probably in future updates. I remember something about this from the streams.

Does the game use the 64 bit version, although, if I open the task manager (ctrl-alt-delete), I read "AC launcher 32 bit"??

AssettoCorsa.exe is only the launcher of the engine. If you want to see the engine exe, start a race and look at acs.exe. It use more cpu and ram and run in 64bits.
