1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Oh Ok. I misunderstood. I thought it was flag distance in general, not only yellows :p

Some penalty system feedback: Today i had a race in Imola. At turn 14 (Rivazza) i missed the braking point and got wide loosing more than 1 sec of pace. My right tyres where at gravel and left at green kerb when i rejoined. And i was penalized loosing even more time. This has to be fixed i think.

    Does it?
Next time rejoin the track at a safe (under 35) speed and you'll have no penalty to worry about!

I will try to post a video. Maybe you are right don't know.
What really bothers me is that i lost my pace so also getting a penalty for that seems to much. Didn't cut a chicane or something just got wide.

  5. I doubt the game will ever know the difference between cutting and making a mistake.

    Delta time.
    Offtrack + gain = penalty
    Offtrack + loss = nothing

  7. Stefano has already said (and given reasons) why delta time won't work and isn't happening.

Could be a matter of setting up different off track zones. One type in places where you could possibly gain and second (or no zone at all) where you could only lose time. If you go off track on the latter it's known you've already lost time and face no further consequences. Gran Turismo had it.

Yep the current system seems solid, they just need to set the off track areas where no advantage can be gained to not give penalty and it's perfect imo

Very much this. A "like" yould have been enough but I felt like underlining it ;-)

The circuits are already set up that way, the problem is you can go off in places where both are possible depending how you rejoin.

If you stay on the track you shouldnt have to worry about this.

So true and Im finding this penalty system much better for public servers. People just need to learn to rejoin safely, also Im seeing so many people go off get a penalty re enter at full speed then slam on the brakes mid track in front of others.

After warning people in the server not to do this, I went back through some replays and banned the ones that kept doing it.

If you go off then rejoin safely its not so hard. Re entering the track and slamming on the brakes is about as stupid as you can be showing you have no care about anyone else on the server but yourself in which case multiplayer may not be for you.

The penalty stops the excessive cutting public servers had and if your going off track and losing time thats just tough luck. If you drive with more control and are less of a hazard to everyone then you wont get any penalty. If you do get one then maybe losing more time will maybe teach you to try stay on track next time. ;)

@martcerv , penalties should punish people from gaining through cutting not loosing from mistakes (as real life does , see f1 ).
Also agree that penalties system is needed. New one is far better than before. But needs (IMO) this small polish.

  15. I will just have to be careful, because I don't like slow down penalties FULL STOP. I understand why they are needed, but they are one hell of an annoyance if you make an honest mistake.

There's no way an automated penalty system can tell the difference between a mistake and a deliberate cut. Slow down penalties are the only way, if they encourage people to take more care and stay on track then that's a good thing. If that's just too boring for you then find a different game.

Real world penalties are just too easy to exploit so they can't work in anything other than a session post moderated by a person. There's really no point discussing this.

And who gives you right to tell me what is be discussed and what isn't???
Or to give me directions if i will play this game or not???

This thread is made by devs for users to provide feedback. And i have. So guess what? My feedback is for devs and not for you or anyone else. They will take it in account or not. For me this system in nice but in occasions is way to punishment. So please don't argue with me again on this impolite manner. Let devs decide about luck of my feedback. Thanks

Yeah, he wasn't impolite, so please grow up instead of being offended for the smallest thing.
And saying things like "this bla bla bla bla... should be ... blablablabla" isn't feedback, it's more like demanding.

Ok, this is the video from the example i was talking about

Please i don't want to start a debate with anyone. Arguments "stay on track" are not useful. I know that i have to stay on track, it's the only way to be fast.
But in this occasion i just missed braking point, got wide and already lost a lot of time, so why i should be penalized for that?
Maybe there is a solution maybe there's not. I am just reporting. Thanks for watching.
