1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    I think that's exactly questions you want to avoid asking. First of all there's more than one, and they are very long.
    Second, you ask for something you should really just put up in the regular forum support section. Optimization is a very broad subject, very hard for Stefano to pin down in a stream session.
    Third, if you search a little, you'd find that an i7-950 is not quite enough for running the Rift and it certainly is a bottleneck to your gtx970.

    In general, be sharp and to the point, but do your homework first.

    I have a i7-920 and i have clocked it to 3.8ghz and with the 980ti strix i can run single screen 120hz in 2k at about 150-175fps and at the back of a grid about 60fps.

    All setting on maximum apart from the ones which make little difference to quality. (Max reflections for example)

    So you should have a problem with a 950 if you overclock it to 4.0ghz which is dead easy.. And i only have a h50 corsair cooler and there are loads better now for the price.

    I too could hit 150fps, previously (single screen).
    I dont want to overclock since its 40c already here and the CPU cant take it with aircooling.

    If Stefano thinks its too long he wont reply, i don't post those at tech support because the answers i am getting don't cover me.

    You have a similar system to mine and I also have those troubles.

    So far we've narrowed it down to old CPU architecture. See this thread: https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/benchmark-results-food-for-thought.28103/

    A few 970's getting different results depending on having old or newer i7's.

    About the VR question: our GPU is the minimum requirement for the Rift, and your CPU is way below their minimum req. (mine's a bit worse) http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-950-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4590/617vs2604
    Keep in mind these are _minimum_ requirements to run the system, so I expext we'll need something above that to keep steady fps.

    We even have the same motherboard and so you'll need a PCI-Express USB 3.0 adapter.

    I'm thinking of moving to VR, but I'm waiting to see how things go and where the prices will be next Christmas / Q1 2017. I've already accepted I'll have to buy a new PC for that.

    If you people narrowed it down to old cpu architecture i got my answer !

    You're right, I noticed you have GA-X58A-UD3R and mine is GA-EX58-UD3R. So at least you can plug the Rift in... I'm not so lucky :-(

    If you read the thread you'll find very similar system (same windows, same RAM, same GPU, same game settings) having 6~7000 more points, just because they have a newer CPU. Or at least that's the conclusion we reached.

    Stelios, triples requires from cpu to calculate and send to gpu each frame 3 times.
    Your old cpu just can't handle that. Maybe low cache or old architecture is the cause.
    If I am correct, nvidia will introduce a new technology with 1070/1080 cards that will draw triples as single monitor.
    If that is the case, you have 2 options.
    Keep cpu and buy new gpu or keep gpu and buy new cpu.
