1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I don't think platform exclusivity will be a huge problem as Valve seems fairly open about support. We'll have to wait and see obviously. Buying an $800 hmd on the assumption that your favorite dev will support it is probably a bad idea though.

Here is another reason to support vr. HTC reports 15k hmds moved in 10 minutes!

That's good for VR too; more demand for VR support and more brands.

HTC's finances are spiraling down the toilet currently. Their phones aren't selling, they really need the Vive to be a success.

Hi, has there been any recent announcements regarding support for SDK1.0?

I know Kunos have said they'll look at Rift support again once a finished version of the SDK is available [March/April]. But do we have any clue as to a time frame or priority level for this? Update 1.5 isn't to far off now, but I can't imagine it including consumer Rift support. That I'm aware of, only day-one Oculus Store releases have had access to SDK1.0 so far...

There are a few launch titles for the Rift which I'd like to play, but I'm unsure of their longevity. Might get a months play time out of them at most. The Rift could very well end up sat on the shelve, while waiting on full support for titles like Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, Elite: Dangerous, ETS2 and ATS...

They've said they expect hope to have it supported before the first devices reach the consumers. Also not to be expect any more support than what we currently have for DK2.

I would LOVE IT if they did that.

@ davegreengo : Thanks for that, completely missed your post at the start of the thread. I understood they wouldn't be fleshing out the current feature set, but were going to support SDK1.0. Just wasn't certain as to when they'd get the time... Last update about VR I'd seen was within the "2015 & Beyond" post.

My Rift ships in May, so if Kunos get even remotely close to an update for launch time, I'll be a happy chap :D

Here's a review for Vive that made me think twice about which direction to go. AC is the only game I play regular (when not traveling :( and time allows), but what I see here gives me the feeling that the long term more versatile unit is the Vive. This is just my personal opinion and I have yet to try any VR so open to comments concerning this. I have watched lotsa Oculus reviews as well to not be too one-sided. I expect that my kid will want to use it as well for his games so that's another consideration.

The review is not racing related:

The Vive seems really impressive, and does a few things the Rift cannot, at least until the Touch controllers are available this summer. But guy in the video is comparing it to the Oculus dev kits - the consumer version is dramatically improved. They use the same displays as far as I know.

Anyway I'm going with just the Rift for now, as we know Kunos is probably planning to support it in some way (however minimal). If I hear otherwise, I'll consider at a later date. Just a probability thing for me, lol.

If I were more interested in the standing experience and showing friends and family what VR is all about, I'd go with the Vive for sure. It has to make for a very strong first impression but, the majority of people that have tried both HMD's say that the Rift has better image quality, lighter weight and better overall comfort. For my use, I see those things as being very important and I don't have the space for Room-scale VR anyway.

Right now, there's a lot of buzz about the Vive and Room-scale. Oculus needs to show something that can counter that a bit, it may be coming later this month. As some point out in the Oculus forums, it's very early days in VR development - pretty much the model-T era. The industry has to learn to walk before it can run . . . er fly. :)

It's not about room scale, hand controllers, anything like that for me. For me, it's down to three factors, in order of importance
    1. Will AC support it?
    2. Will other games, such as rF2, AMS, support it?
    3. Quality of headset experience
Right now I have to hedge my bets with the Rift. It would be bonkers for me to buy a Vive, when 95% of my time in the Rift DK2 is playing AC.

HTC have set the bar high with all that tech and I'm suspecting that those who have received one are pretty much signed into something that says they can't express negative opinions on the dev kits they've received. The future of HTC is too dependent on its success.

Nobody will really know how the two headsets compare, how much CPU the Vive is going to demand for everything it's got going on, until it's un the hands of the consumer.

The two games I want VR for (AC and Elite: Dangerous) are essentially "stationary"/sitting down games. I have honestly no desire whatsoever to stand up and move around.

    (Rift pre-ordered/June batch)

Can't you have "stationary' experience with Vive? Why settle for less functionality/features?

...cause he did what The Fagbook Company want him to do. He fight for his VR-Periphery...thats what Fagbook do for me, they close the OculusVR api so that other VR-Headsets couldnt youse it, and people starting to fight each other...this game runs for me and not for u...uhhhhh
This is so stupid...why not using SteamVR or OpenVR api, that all of us could use...
And Riftler start conversations/battles with things like "i dont need VR-Controllers and Room-Scale" and so on...but when Oculus start to sell these things too, they all buy it and then its perfect!

But the Future will show what will happen when Fagbook become to agressive with the (we working close together for the "best" experience)...and Game Developers...(so we dont know if and when the Vive is supported in our game)...
Than hopefully Valve stands up and close there plattform with all the Games on it for VIVE Users only...Booom! (NO i really dont want things like this!)

But for Now, Palmer Luckey and MArk Zuckerberg are the biggest liers ever, with there statemants like "VR have to be Easy for anybody" and "VR have to expand quickly" <- thats why the Price have to be like 350-400 Dollars...muhahahaha
    and so on and on....
Now, with the OculusVR closed api its really easy...YES we can!

PS: hopefully you guys could understand what i mean, because writing in another language is like mehhh for me :(

Why spend £200 on something I won't use and don't want?

And isn't supported by the games I play.
