Check the public branch, once the build ID has changed, count at least a couple of hours before it gets live on Steam. Then it'll mean something is coming.

This website is the only thing that matters if you want REAL updates on what is going on since the communication/PR is... (adjective of your choice)

 

If Kunos said they're doing a full on GT simulation you may have a point, but they didn't. It's a racing simulation which is a very broad term. They probably should have called it a driving simulation. When I hear the word simulation I don't think of a simulation of some guy waving a flag, to me simulation means simulating the mechanics of a machine, like an airplane, or a car, or a truck, or a train.

I care about the simulation of the cars on the road. Everything outside of that is immersion.

Until that value has changed, it means the build hasn't been updated...

Fair point, I'll keep playing AC and massively enjoy it, because I just love the way it feels to drive the cars, but when you omit something big you open the door for others to provide it. Racing simulations and simcades are very abundant these days, so if you've got the best netcode, ffb, tire physics and very competitive graphics and road physics to name but a few it sucks a bit to ignore a few features, that to a few those are a deal-breaker or at least other sims have. I think ideally we need a dominant sim to bring in all the hardcore players long term, something that can at least match everything else in most areas. Also makes Kunos' name carry more weight if and when they decide to release a new title in the distant future. Otherwise they become associated with a partially completed simulation, at least for some people, and I think that's damaging.

Other drivers might play other sims like iracing or RF2. RF2, I tried, but the FFB and general tire physics didn't work for me, at least at that stage of development 6 months ago and from reports iracing price structure would put me off and the (reportedly) dead feeling ffb and icy road feel.

So I'm stuck with AC, but why give other people ammunition not to try it? You know there will be loads of 'but it doesn't have X or Y feature' naysayers.

 

they don't ignore, they will just add it later than you want. if someone doesn't buy it because it has no pit stops and/or flags, then it's their problem for not understanding what a long-term product is.

 

What we have is the public branch. Up to build id 370637 the public and the beta version were on par. Since then, only the beta branch has been updated

 

public branch is early access, beta branch is closed beta. Why? Because beta branch has password protection.

As always, what I don´t really understand is de lack of info.

They are not accomplishing their dates gave us months ago, none update in September nor DLC...

I know many of your answers... it´s better the team are developing the game than give any announcements, but at least each 2 weeks wouldn't be so much efforts...

Agree, it´s time to give us informations or new content. They gave us a part of a nice "driving" simulator for our money till now. It is a pleasure to drive. But they should learn to communicate with their community... it is frustrating - stop doing such a bad job and talk with your beta testers!!!

The "friday 23:00" dilemma is coming to an end. Brace yourselves, it was just a one-day diary. Can't wait to bump the "update 100% confirmed, bet my life on it" messages.

 

Buying a game that is in 'early access' does NOT make you a beta tester.....and unless you receive a paycheck from Kunos you aren't actually a member of the team either.

You are a consumer that wanted a product bad enough that you gambled on wasting your money on something that might never be better than the day you bought it in exchange for getting to play it before it is fully released. Nothing more, nothing less.

 

If they work like on the last 2 huge updates, they cant announce much until they are ready.
and the 2 weeks update cycle got stopped if you didnt noticed.

Have u ever thought about early access or kickstarter projects? We pay, they develope for us. So, they could take their time to come to an end and release it. We are not members, but they need us and we need them. We are a team!
