1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Simulation or game?

Would you like Assetto Corsa to be more of a simulation or have more arcade elements?

  1. Keep it an accurate simulation in as many ways as possible

WHilst i do agree on the harder=sim thing, i felt like even on full unassisted racing felt like there was still a safety net wit the car, mauybe hidden traction or something.. i dunno.. just didnt feel as raw as i would of liked and did to me feel more like simbins efforts....

Yes I know what you mean, I really don't like this "safety net" -people could use aids if they want this so it wouldn't
Spoil anything for people that like a high level of grip etc, anyway maybe future updates etc we will see improvements

i did read that with the cars that come with TSC, that they are in game and cant be turned off, not sure how true this is mind you

If I turned up for a track day I wouldn't select a car that has abs or tc, I don't think most people would,
A sim car is no different in this respect,

However with some cars we can turn off these aids ( in the real world ), I know we can press ctrl & t or a in AC to deactivate, be good if we can don't have to do this ( just the main aids section is good enough) ,
But I agree with everything off in AC it still feels like a special grip aid is on etc

So - How long did it take you to nail all the achievements ? :p:p:p

I bet it took a more than a couple of minutes to beat 1:28:50 at Monza (historical) with the Lotus 49 :D:D:D

And if you did, Please do upload a vid so all of us can see how awesome you really are

I've took no notice of the achievements thing, to to a certain degree actual lap times, I've been more interested in testing/trying out the the AC software to make assessment of it as an accomplished simulator etc

My post is just my conclusion at this stage

P.s I've tried to -but don't see any logic or link between people's opinions of a simulator and their " lap times " or "steam achievement awards" etc.

achievements have no place in sims, there for console games, and thats where they shoudl belong!!

  9. not bad, you have enough experience to give us an experienced opinion about the Tatuus, i drove the Elise , the Exige, (both are more than ok!) , the KTM (is there..is really great) , the E30, the E92 and the Z4, the E30 seems to need more power in the mid range of the curve, the Z4 is more "intense" in AC than in real live , in real live is even more sad, the E92 is a 1:1 copy :).

i dont have a clue about how the Tatuus, the Zonda, the old Lotus F1 , and the 458 handles in real live, but i trust on AC developers because what they did in the others.

    Regards

  10. Damn, and I wanted to do "faster than Clark" achievement. I guess I'm not a simracer anymore...

Here's the thing. You claim its too safe to drive, a little too easy, has too much grip. So we want to know how fast your actually going. Are you really driving on the edge ?

Lets take the GT2 steam achievement... Are you doing low 1.42's/high 41'1 consistently @ Imola ? Are you constantly in the 1.30's with the Tatuus @ Vallelunga? It sure doesn't feel too grippy when your trying to drive consistently at that sort of pace..when you're really on the edge.

I think this is the point he was trying to make. Are you actually driving at the limit to be able to comment on the grip level? Those times on the two steam achievements I've referenced have currently been achieved by less than 0.3% of users, which indicates there are not many people actually driving at the limits. The cars are certainly far more edgy to drive when driving at that sort of pace.

I see, the answer is yes of course, I wouldn't make those carefully thought out points if I haven't.

I also wouldn't post prematurely after say just 3 hours of AC

To clarify, I have driven various sim cars in AC within the "limit" , I have driven on the limit, I have driven over the limit

Just over 50 hours of use dose this need to be questioned?
I think if it does those who are questioning are really not seeing the points or in fact do not want to.

    ( no offence etc )

I think you fit the general Sim Racer type when it comes to AC !

As someone in Kunos explained about the cars some time ago:
It's easy to drive them but hard to drive REALLY fast !

I spent a couple of hours with the lotus 49 @ Monza yesterday and anyone who says it's easy to drive that car really fast is plain and simply a lier !

  14. MsportDAN

    MsportDAN Alien

i agree about the lotus it seems exceptionally difficult to the point it doesnt seem in the same game as the rest..

i dunno really none of us are racing drivers none of us have driven these cars.. so lets leave it at that, who are we to say that they feel real or not..

Maybe i expected a little more challenge like simman, but the game is still hella rewarding as guy above said at least i will be able to battle harder AI and better humans.

I think if it was too hard it would be more a excercise in frustration.

" It's easy to drive but really hard to go fast, or get that extra 100th of a second "

I like this saying but it also applies to every arcade racer out there including "horris goes skiing" ,
so to me it bares no relevance in an assessment

No disrespect to who ever originally said this or to those who also like the saying

Let us please keep this discussion sensible

    EDit:

To make it very clear I'm not saying AC is an arcade racer, I'm just referring to that saying
    Thanks

I have to disagree even though I see myself as a hardcore simracer !

You don't have to pay any attention to the achievements cause they will not give you any benefits like more HPS or better tires etc etc etc !

It's simply there to encourages you to be a better driver, thats all !

  17. The Moose

    The Moose Hardcore Simmer

Ok, if you're doing those times consistently then i respect your opinion :) I still disagree with you though :D I don't think there is too much grip at the limit.

Under the limit it is more grippy than most other sims. I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

    yeah i think your right..

i think i may be getting a little frustrated on here and wrognly saying stuff in the game not even finished yet.. Its just i came from xbox 360 and i payed a lot of money (that i said oi never would for a pc), to play top flight sim games!! Maybe im thinking kunos will make a clone of GT or forza to rake the £$£$ in, but clearly by the peoples posts and reactions, theyre not.

Im gonna give this a little bash tonight and try get that lotus around a track without falling off lol..

I am 100% certain that both you and Simman are going to get a challenge worthy of a Champion once AC 1.0 is out either with the AI or MP and both are probably going to kick your *** :D
