Weekly challenge 3 - 10th March till 17th March - 599XX Evo Silverstone

Do you use ABS in the car? I tried the brake balance at 67, but I lock up pretty much everywhere. I have to tune it down a little bit to be a bit more consistent when braking.

 

No, I don't.
67% front should give a good amount of braking force while leading to (almost) simultaneous blocking of both front and rear wheels. I tried to avoid front wheels lockup, it just makes you go straight (and I find it the most frustrating sensation of the whole driving experience); sometimes I even find the rear end a bit squirrelly under heavy braking, like at Vale.

All this doesn't mean you can simply slam the brake pedal and keep it fully pressed until the apex. This is possible just at the very beginning of the braking, when the downforce is still adding some extra grip. Try adjusting brake gamma in the control settings if you didn't.

 

Trying to get into the <2:00 club. 1:56 is crazy. Still have to try setting up the car,etc. I tried searching on where to put setup files, but cant find anything. Can anybody fill me in on what directory these are found in?

 

They go in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Assetto Corsa\setups\ferrari_599xxevo\silverstone

 

Keep pushing I'm 2:01 and hoping I might be able to crack the 2 min barrier as well.

For setup files go to your "My Documents" then Assetto Corsa then Setups folder. You will see the cars and within those folders the tracks. Just copy the setup files into there and you will see them in the game.

 

Ye I noticed he takes the last corner in 3rd, where I've been dropping to second and then cautiously tapping back into 3rd as your about to straighten out. I'm only do a few laps at night So I reckon I could get under 2min with a controller if I practice more.

 

Did a couple of laps yesterday, went under 2min pretty easy...Now just nail that perfect lap and I should also get around that 56 high of 57 low but the track is so long...Win some here and loose it half a lap further on, AAaaarrrgghhhh

So many laps I`ve been up on my PB, only to fluff it somewhere else.

 

Setup seems to help a bit...went from the 1:59's into the 1'58's...no more time to try to get a better time...gl guys.

 

Is that 6 laps in a row? I always thought softs were done after 2-3 laps. :/ I kept restarting after my completed 2nd/3rd lap

I managed to shave almost 3s off my time and am now down to a 2.01 and I know I can get under 2min just not by the close of the challenge

 

Finally got to put in a few laps today. I always liked this car, I find it a pleasure to drive. I got a 1.59.1, I think I should be able to get a bit more off that tomorrow.

 

New to this sim.....this weekly challenge looks like fun. I sent a friend request.

I am a flight simmer, so I have X52 Flight joystick & throttle + Rudder Pedals. Make for interesting driving, LOL!

Let's see how well I can do.

My gas pedal won't go past 60% all of a sudden, contacted Fanatec CS already so lets hope I'll be back soon

Hi guys,

just wanted to be fair and say that my 1,57,685 (which is currently my time in the app) was invalid. Was a bit too far off in the right hander before the last chicane. I didnt delete it, because i thought i would get a better time after that, but wasnt able to do it . So my best lap after that was a 1,57,831, which is my PB for this challenge (RSR proven).

However, great lap Kristaps! Very impressive.

Looking forward to the next challenge. Im definitely in

 

I would say, if the games allows it, it's legal. I beat your time anyway
