1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Note: From here on in DLC cars may be used for these events.

    The Challenge.
    Car: Porsche 911 Carrera S
    Track: Nordschleife

    First of all this is an extended edition of the WHC, it's a busy time of year and a long lap so hopefully it will give time for people to put some laps in!

    Porsche 911 Carrera S, after much thinking and testing I settled on the this car, it's fast enough to eat the straights up, and has great balance in the corners. The rear can get unsettled under heavy braking, it is also possible to get those semi slicks spinning up if you are really pushing on. A simple on / off traction control system, ABS and a paddle shift gearbox level the playing field.

    Not much in the way of adjustment, just the basic stuff on offer here, tyre pressure toe and camber ! Be careful when setting fuel load, running out on the Dottinger Hohe is not something that is recommended!

    The Nordschleife, this version I really associate with manufactures testing road cars (another part of the reason for choosing the 911CS), it is a demanding circuit, that will punish the smallest mistakes, but the reward and satisfaction of putting together a clean lap is second to none! The 911CS is in capable of sub 8 minute lap times of this famous circuit.

    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Off

    Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday January 1st - 22:00 GMT -> Two weeks for this event!

    How to take part!
    To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap choose the Porsche 911 Carrera S and head to the Nordschleife. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

    You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :)

    To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature.

    All Platforms are welcome, please let us know what you are using when submitting a time, please also include the time in the text of your post as sometimes the images are difficult to read.

    Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

    A leader board will be collated on a daily basis (I will try to keep this up over Christmas but a day here and there may get missed) to keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

    Feel free to use the unofficial leader board but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

    I have to confess I am a little nervous about using the Nordschleife for a WHC even if it is an extended time frame. It's a long track not so easy to learn, a mistake towards the end of a lap can make it a frustrating experience, on the other hand it is a brilliant track to drive a virtual car around...

    Hopefully we get a top ten this time out :eek: and I haven't made a huge mistake by putting it into the mix...

    Great combination! And finally a Porsche :)

    The Nordschleife is my favorite track. Driving it for the Hotlap challenge this time of the year is a bit like Driving Home for Christmas :)

    Ahhhhh, after 5 laps, and just barely running my tires off the edge on the final stretch EVERYTIME!.. Enough to disqualify my lap,.. I'm done for tonight.. Palms are sweating.

    No I've held off buying the dlc for now as there's still so much that I have not tried in the game already. I will pick them up at some point though but probably not until post Christmas/New Year.

    It's a nice choice man. It will make people learn and appreciate the Nordschleife. What kind of simracer are you if you don't know this track like the back of your hand ;-)

    I will now make an attempt at a first hotlap...on the gamepad for now.

    Does anyone know why my pictures look like sh1t? They're perfectly fine and crisp jpgs or pngs. But when I upload them here as full image or thumbnail they look very poor.
