1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    small summary...
1- Talked about how modders should use the VERSION header in car.ini
2- Talked about WARNINGS_AS_ERROR option and why it should be used by modders.
3- Talked about downshift limiting and showed a demo with Lotus Exos
4- Showed the new loading screens which provide you some info on the car being used.
5- Coded an app to set and save DRS zones for tracks. Will be used by server admins to set the DRS zones. In SP, zones will be pre defined.
6- Some Q/A. Version 1.4 might (note the word might) just have multi-threading implementation which is expected to give a good boost on performance.

    in addition:

in the q&a around 1:23 in he said that in next version you can select number of abs channels for the car, so racing cars will go back to the old system allowing trailbraking and road cars can still have the current version

    good stuff

he acknowledged it was stupid to change it like they did.

still worthwhile going through the change as now there is the option for road car style or race car style abs (if i understood correctly)

The downshift protection Sounds good. Should stop some exploits like on McLaren GT.

stops you downshifting into a gear when the current speed is too high and would cause engine damage

Yes. No more downshifting over the redline for exploiting engine braking that would kill the engine. You will still be able to engine brake, but just like you would in your real counterpart of the same car.

Was he talking about the DRS activation if the car is in certain length in front of you, or did I understand that wrong?

//Ok he was talking about it around 1:19. Good to hear that, also rule that it will be active after x lap.

So we're going to have a standard type of ABS for the road cars? What will that be 3/4 channel? You'd think the ABS systems on the old M3 and the Z4 would be different.

In reality, despite there being a regulation for example of 8500 rpm rev limit on BTCC cars, in reality, the cars could downshift well into the 9000 rpm range.

  13. Can someone detail what was said in these 2 topics? Im at work and can´t use sounds here. Cheers

version header is the version number of the file structure not the car version. So keep it at 1, and maybe with 1.3 there will be new parameters that could need to change the version header to 2, for car mods that want to use the new features.

warnings as error enabled is for debugging, for the devs and modders too. Normal users can keep it disabled, at 0.

Who can tell me... what did he mean when he said about new feature in 1.4? Some new rendering in MP? what does it mean?

    no, just multi-threading in general

  17. I asked him about it in PM and he said to use the same version as the example Tatuus. Currently the example Tatuus is using version 2.

PS4/XB1 have much less CPU speed (but lots of cores) so they had to rewrite the presently single render thread to be multithreaded to get usable framerates on console. For 1.4 they'll be moving that newer version of the rendering onto PC, and once it's done put out 1.4, not work on other features first. (I think what's unsaid is the next set of bonus content will be ready by the time they get this working on PC and they only add content alongside patches)

Like current efforts to make AI multithreaded, it'll help framerates for people who have >2core processors, and maybe do a little for 2 core too depending what the threading allows to be optimized (if you set 10 tasks in a row on one thread, vs. set 10 threads to run on one cpu, the second version can be done quicker if the tasks spend any time idling waiting for something, eg. IO or the render thread being ready)

  20. How about 64bits, it was mentioned before so will it be available in any of these 2 next updates, any news on that?
