1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Why AC is not a service?

Maybe because we want something from both worlds... AC graphics, physics and FFB; and iRacing robust MP system.

Understand it, but I seem to want to be less serious than you. The systemized or well-professionalized schedule has both pros and cons. First as you said the focusing on a combo had given me a new challenge and strong wish to achieve something every week but not always, at that case only one goal to play the game was just a sunday race. As I had played it I had found it difficult to enjoy just a game sometimes.

I don't like the staying in suspense throughout every lapping and every week. I just want to freely do anything in game, every combo, any session, SP or MP whatever, when I want to.

I already assumed your comment wasn't directed at me, but still the OP is frustrated with something and he thinks he deserves an answer. Hopefully he'll receive one that will satisfy. I don't think he's complaining, he just wants MORE like the rest of us.

And I completely agree with you. Sometimes you just need a quick race to have some fun. It's fine by me, still it doesn't stop me from wanting a more serious system for those that are interested. Not everyone is competitive and not everyone takes sim racing seriously, so the main idea is that the sim needs to have both of the two worlds, a balance if you will. So that everybody's happy.

iRacing subscribers aren't coming to AC if they already enjoy the weekly schedule over there -- and it would be such a shame for AC to be "played" by NFS "drivers" that got a new cool looking game.

Understood OV1, I read it slightly different and still cannot figure out why people purchase a product that is quite clearly unfinished and in development. Over and above that I do not want an iRacing clone and also want to see what KS gives us. I'm sure it will be better than most but maybe not the best, still these things will be ironed out over time and that is one thing I expect most from KS is a good update cycle for the next 2 or 3 years with DLC and modded content.

if that were the case ac support would really be dead in a year, theres no reason to make a sequel unless theres a major engine overhaul, and i would feel ripped off.... they will get easy money from dlc for a long time ..... glad your not on kunos team:p no offence!

personally i couldnt afford i racing thats a rich mans game which im not :(, im glad they went this route.
i think raceroom has the iracing model

    (sorta off topic )
lots of people think kunos doesnt know what theyre doing then praise them for having the best sim not even out yet.
theres a difference between feedback and complaining....sorry had to get that out

Honestly, I felt slightly pissed by the tone in the OP. This "I like this and that and by that preference I am representative for all rest of the world" kind of attitude.

Leave personal preferences as what they are - personal preferences.

  11. I like the idea that I can start my own lobby (server) without paying extra. I'm willing to bet that within a month or so I will have, for the most part, the same group of like minded guys more nights than not. I want to run 10 to 15 lap races using street cars and drive like I'm in a real car; I bet it won't take long to find a few guys that like the same thing.

If enough people buy AC and keep buying the DLC Kunos plans to keep adding features and making overall improvements to AC for at least 5 years....it seems we are off to a good start seeing as how they are already securing licenses for the first DLC pack.

Not aimed at the OP necessarily but:
That is pretty much typical Iracer mentality.

No way in hell I would pay monthly/per-event/car/track for any game. Very glad things are as they are here.

"a system supplying a public need such as transport, communications, or utilities such as electricity and water."
Because it's not a need. Iracing will come up with any little thing to make their game sound more important, but at the end of the day it's just a game.

And as others have stated, Iracing's fan base is very small compared to the likes of Forza and Gran Turismo.

I'm planning to invest £1200 to £2000 in AC this year.

I was a massive fan of rfactor, took part in various leagues. I even went to Germany to meet some of my fellow league racers. Then rfactor 2 went into development, we all got excited, I was going to buy a new gaming system to run it. Then the first beta came out...... O dear!!!! It was such a disappointment, so much that I walked away from simracing.

I signed up to iracing & bought some content. I even enjoyed some online action but just couldn't love it enough to keep spending money.

Now with AC I got my love for sim racing back. My system runs AC just fine but I will be buying a new system just for AC, just so I can enjoy it in all it's glory.

You Sir are about as close to how I feel about these sim's, as I feel about these sim's. Good luck with your new system, it's always a joy to get new toys. :D

you really have no idea what the sim world is and how it develops, do you?

these guys pay for licenses and and work to create cars and tracks. if they were to work on another project called "ac 2" it would greatly reduce sales of assetto corsa and people would start waiting for AC 2. even mentioning such an imaginary thing foolishly here and there will confuse people who consider buying it.

and do you know how much time they need to develop a game and make it like as it is now? YEARS. they actually started this in 2012 and its not even OUT yet. if they were to keep creating another and another sim year after year they would never get any of them to the top. resources will be lower for both and both the games will be ****.

you are like some spy/agent that is here to ruin this game's future. really, all of your ideas, thoughts are 100% against the future of AC. 100% against the future of sim racing.

Shubert, I think you took the wrong meaning from Lazybug's statement. I'm sure he was only saying how committed he is to the Kunos way and will continue to support them even if they started an AC2, which they are not for a good few years yet. Kunos could have gone down the pay 2 play method, now favoured by most of the sim racing developers, but they chose to be the good guys and give us more for our money than any other, iceRacing included.

If AC had been a "service" like iRacing, then I wouldn't have bought it.
