1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

  1. I have to be honest here and say that the Escort is not one of my favourite cars to drive. It feels very "floaty", almost to the point of not feeling like it has much contact with the track.

  2. What bothers me a little is the snappy way the back end recovers grip - I have to admit I've not driven a live axle car with racing tyres, but the ones on road tyres generally seemed to recover grip in the same progressive way they lost it in the first place. That floaty feeling I'm less bothered about, because I was expecting it given the tyres & softness of the suspension.

I'd like to have seen a 68 ETCC euro spec Escort as the standard version, then this one as an S1. The 68 ETCC car would have been a decent playmate for the GTA.

The 68 ETCC spec Escort would certainly have been closer in performance, but comparing laptimes at ETCC rounds at Zolder and Zandvoort, the 68 Escort TC was around 3 seconds a lap quicker than the 66 GTA.

Yes a Lotus Cortina would maybe be better. Possibly a BMW 1800, Mini Cooper S 1300, MK2 Jag, Mercedes 300SE...

Yeah the Escort, my little baby.:)

The under/neutral/oversteer balance is just like real life FR , the way it goes into Paddock Hill bend, a feel in the steering: neutral semi understeer , that moment/feel is also irl feelable on track.

The transitioning from that state alone and on throttle/steer to more neutral 4wheeldrift and some oversteer is just what it is. Real.

On the other hand I think the Escort Mk1 has a bit too much tendency to oversteer when entering a slower turn(not by braking per se) on default just by the steering alone: Those 70s slicks are wide etc... but also >40 years old. You can flick it like a rallycar.

Most difficult turn in the Escort to go rather neutral and make some speed for the next bend on Brands GP: Surtees... pff that's a challenge in that car.

    Cheers

Would be incredible to get a Lotus Cortina, BMW 1800 and Mini Cooper S 1300 to go up against the Escort. Would be quite a car pack.

Personally I don't need a 'slower' Escort, we just need faster competition;)
A 1300 Mini Cooper? Drinking tea is more exciting imho...anyway each to their own.

A faster GTA(which is great in AC as well but lacks power) , a BMW 2002, a Capri etc.

  9. I guess you mean the Alfa GTA? They would all be choking on the Escort's dust.

The late 60s ETCC Escort less so but yes, the Escort is really a later generation of car. It's more early 70s than 60s.

And the one that's "hiding" behind Alfa on the right side.

Speaking of all those awesome cars, take a look at this, awesome battle between Alfa and Mini. And that's real racing, without voice in your ear telling you that "Fernando is faster than you".

    That's for sure.

This is also a fine example of real racing.

Is our AC Escort MK1 fair competition to one of the AC Cobras?
Not in a straight line but on the twisties, I think so.

OK, I just needed to revive this thread a bit with this video. If you have just over 15 mins of spare time you NEED TO SEE THIS from the beginning to the END!:)

The saying 'There is no substitute for cubic inches', make that 'There is no substitute for engineering and good drivers'.

What-A-Race! And the skin of the Escort in this video is somwhere around too afaik.

    Cheers
